Is it hard to get a US tourist visa? HELP please

My situation:

 

1. From India , Completed law school in 2016, never applied for a job since My family owns a "Private middle school" I manage it, also I am the "School society secretary". yes its a thing xD

 

2. We have around 1400 sq feet of property but it is in my parents name. I am the only child

 

So I want to go enjoy myself, travel in some parts of US, around chicago mostly,  and alone.

 

My visa agent keeps scaring me that i will not get the visa since I am between 20-25 age, single, unemployed, Although, I am investing all my time in the family business but i do not own it (yet). So please help

 

and I only have one shengen tourist visa on my passsport. Can i show my parents as dependents , they wont be travelling with me and i dont have any other sibling , nor  any relative in US

Apply and find out. Seems to me like your ties are on the weak side, so I see why your visa agent is skeptical. If you have the money to spare, go and see if you'll be luck and gets approved. 

 

Owning property means relatively little. It's not considered a strong tie. Being unemployed makes it worse. Your chances appear slim, but go see for yourself and see what happens.

I would agree. I think since you are unemployed, young age, single, the CO will determine that you are at risk for staying in the US and will deny. Probably better to use your visa money fee somewhere else.

 I will be applying soon, but actually i think i do have strong ties to come back home, we have a private school, I can not just abandon that, I am the only child. I think the problem is that I do not own the business myself, my parents do :\\

will  it make a difference if I join a Tour company, maybe a small group or so ?

Sometimes owning things in your home country isn't seen as a strong tie because they think you can just hire people to manage it while you're in the States, whether it be a business or property. They also think you can sell it, especially if it's something easily liquidated and worth money. This is why a full time job with a solid work history is more of a strong tie: they think you are dependent on that salary and income physical in your home country, thus more likely to return.

 

You can always just go on the interview and try to explain the situation to the CO. Best of luck. If you have the funds to spare, it's always worth trying for a visitors visa, as sometimes people with weaker ties get lucky and end up getting them anyway. You just need to be realistic about your chances.

thanks, would you advice me to join a tour company, like a holiday package? if it makes it easy to get the visa?

Visa agents aren't really worth it because all they do is accumulate paperwork and coach you.

 

B2 process should be quite straightforward for a law school grad. Apply on your own. Getting a US visa is a dream for Indians, and most folks mistakenly believe having an agent increases their odds. Don't fall for it.

thanks, and should I get a packaged tour? only if it increases the chances of getting visa easier?

Highly doubt a packaged tour serves your original plan above. Better off planning what's best for you, not necessarily what gets you a visa.

well you are right, i hate them restricted group tours, so yeah... if i can find a customized tour, then only i will apply
