Your not doing anything wrong. AOS fee unlocks first after you've completed the ds261. It usually takes a few days for your AOS to show paid in the system after payment is submitted, 5-7 days later the IV fee will unlock. Some people get lucky with both unlocking at the sametime but that's rear. I hope that was helpful

Very helpful! Thank you. Trying to untangle what goes to who when now :D How's everyone at the NVC step doing? I feel so apprehensive about this paperwork.

The wiki at the beginning of the NVC filers was really helpful for me I read it a few times while I was still waiting for our approval from uscis, and spoke with people I know personal that went through this journey along with reading comments about common mistakes that other VJ filers made with documents. I went over all the documents like a hundred times and i was still asking myself, did I send enough, did I forget anything. So I understand how your feeling.

On the NVC side there's been a lot of November SD with CC. I'm praying that NVC continues at this paste almost everyone has been getting case complete in 5-6 weeks. I've noticed two people who got cc in 4 weeks. But it seems like even after getting CC from NVC there's a lot of people still waiting for interview dates. I know that it's country-specific so I'm hopeful

I read some confusing things about the London consulate- that you can only use a middleman?

Also, I have pretty severe ADHD so the attention to detail needed to process this information coupled with the seriousness of the consequences of making a mistake make is INCREDIBLY difficult for me to manage it alone. I process complex pieces of information for work daily with reference material, but this is just so confusing sometimes that I'm always afraid to submit.

It's not just this process- I've never been in a car accident at 38 (knock wood) but it took me six tries to pass my driver's test. I just freeze up if it's something with testing and serious processors :) It looks like for the EZ form it's just tax transcripts, employment letter, cover letter, barcode sheet, and paystubs. I was having the hardest time from the NVC site figuring if that included birth certificates, marriage certificates, passport photos, et al.

I need an adult!

I will be nervous for my husbands interview too, cuz it's out of my control lol! But things are good for us, I'm with him in Turkey now, but we'll go to the U.S. for the holidays. Hoping we have no issues, he has a letter from his employer. It's been 33 days since our approval from Texas. Not sure if they sent it to NVC yet (no status update & nothing from NVC yet) but I'll call from the states when we get there to follow up! Slowly getting there with this whole process!

For the EZ the income has to be solely yours, you have to be above the poverty guidelines and cannot using a co-sponsor. The i864 is the most common one used. If you have a co-sponsor then your co-sponsor will be required to fill out the i-864 also. Whether or not you're going to need a co-sponsor you can still use form i864. NVC prefers tax transcript but if you have your w2 you can make copies and send it. It is not necessary to send W-2s and tax transcript, your tax transcript will have all the information that NVC needs.

For the AOS (sponsor) tax transcript and paystubs, copy of passport biographic page. Employment letter not necessary but helpful, it didn't ask for the petitioner to send copy of birth certificate to NVC but I sent mine anyway to avoid a checklist.

Supporting documents (beneficiary)

Police report, copy of passport biographic page, copy of marriage certificate, divorce documents from previous marriages if applicable. Any of your documents not in English you must obtain a translated version of all of them. Send that along with your IV documents cover sheet and the barcode cover sheets. All of those documents are required regardless to if you use the i-864ez or i-864.

And about the passport photos I called NVC and asked a representative and she told me passport photos is not required for NVC and there is nothing on the documents barcode cover sheet that asked for passport pictures so I did not send any, but if you feel comfortable sending it I'm sure it wouldn't hurt

I hope that helps

Argh, the police report goes with the I864? I'm so confused and I read the page 100 times!

The i864 (AOS) goes with all of your financial documents.

And the police certificate/report goes with the supporting documents (beneficiary)

put each package in a separate manila envelope clearly mark them both by writing "AOS" or "IV" on each one), then putting both manila envelopes inside one shipping envelope.

Thank you- I was confused because it seemed like they were separate. I've read every recommended guide and none of them make it really straightforward :(

Your welcome. I hope I was able to clarify it for you

Yes! I was completely confused. I asked in the other NVC thread- do they still want originals? I read that that changed in 2014.

ETA: Thanks!

Send copies to NVC, it also states that on the bottom of your document cover sheet.  Keep originals the beneficiary will need to them for the interview

Thank you! I don't think I unlocked that one yet.

That's great news that things are moving forward for you guys.   Yes please call NVC when you get back.   I called NVC so much they probably banned me from their call list 😂
