I know how gut wrenching it can be when you have to leave your partner behind. My husband is in the States and I am in Australia. Im currently due to give birth to our first baby in two weeks and I'm constantly petrified that he won't make it here in time. I've only seen him really briefly twice during my pregnancy and its been such a tough ride. I just wanted to share my experience with you so don't feel alone.

Ina 😊

Hi Ina! I'm happy that you're very positive about this loooong process, and I'm complaining because we had RFE so that means longer wait that it was supposed to be. It's really nice that we're sharing our frustrations and experience here, I don't feel too much stressed reading the comments and suggestions, even we really don't know much about each other, I know I'm not alone.  This will all be worth it when we are soon be with our loved ones.  And Congratulations to you for having a baby soon :)

Hey guys, hope you are all hanging in there :-)

We received my husband's case number and invoice number on November 25, 2017 and filled out the DS-261 form (choose me as the agent) the next day. Now waiting to hear back from NVC as to when I can pay the fees. It says we should give them two-there weeks to process the DS-261 form. I have pretty much put together al the required documents in pdf format and ready to send.

Anyone know when are we required to complete the DS-262 form?  I was hoping I can get a head start on it so by the time NVC is ready for it - its all done and ready to send. I know this form is electronic so how do we send the 2 passport pictures required? I'm really lost as to when the passport pictures are needed and how we are supposed to send them if now you can do everything via electronic transfer.

The welcome letter does not say.  I'm just assuming that it will be electronic but I could be wrong,  in that case all I have to do is print the documents and mail them to NVC.  All I did at this point is send (electronically) the DS-261 form and I waiting to hear back. I hope I am not missing something.

I'm not sure either, but I think electronic processing is only available to certain countries right now. Then there is also email processing or sending in the mail. I guess we'd have to call to find out which method to use. I believe the DS-260 will be unlocked after all fees are paid, but I've heard you can send your documents after it's been unlocked...this way by the time you complete it they'll have your documents & can start processing. That's for mail method though, I'm not sure how it works with email or EP.

We Got this reply from email request sent as i-130 out normal processing times.... any ideas how ling from here ? And any ideas as to the employment part at the end ?

Screenshot_20171129-092312.png

I sent a case inquiry earlier this month and received  the same response minus the last part about the employment authorization. Our pd is April 19, 2017 at Potomac. Last week I called and spoke to a Tier 2 official and all she could tell me was exactly what the email response  to the case inquiry said, that  we are in line to be reviewed. I  am way past frustrated.

Hey guys, Happy Friday

I received our instructions from NVC via email last night to pay the Affidavit of Support fee and IVF fee for my husband (i'm the agent and the US Citizen) which I paid this morning.  After paying says we should wait a week before we can access the D-260 form.  Looks like they are moving fast. They say wait a certain time for the next stage but its quicker than the number of weeks they state - atleast the NVC stage.  See my timeline for our detailed journey. Moving on to the NVC December forum so that's where I will be posting going forward.

Good luck to everyone who are still waiting for petition approval and or NVC to receive case. Thank you to all of you for all your help always. I couldn't have gotten through the USCIS stage without you guys. The wait is so frustrating and trying and its better to know you are not the only one and you have support.

Stay blessed.

Hello everyone!

I'm glad to see progress on everyone's cases. My wife just called NVC and got our case number but when she asked if she could now pay for the fees the person on the phone told her "you should wait 6 weeks from this date (12/01/2017) for the instructions letter in order to pay". Do we really have to wait for the hardcopy letter?

I also would like to know how do I know which NVC thread to join. Is it December?

Also, I just updated my timeline and signature below.

No you wont have to wait that long. I did not wait that long (see my signature for timeline). They will email you both with a welcome letter and instructions to complete step one (choose an agent) and after you will wait for a few days (even though they say 2 weeks) and they will send the agent you choose a letter to complete step 2 (paying the fees - $120 for Affidavit of Support fee and $325 for IVF fee). After you pay they say wait a week then the Ds-260 form will be open.  I'm waiting for my DS-260 to open. I just paid my fees today.  I hope this helps.

All the best.

You will be fine. We wish you all the luck. I'm sure your husband will be the happiest. And it will be your best Christmas present. 😊

We'll try to have our own too as soon as we're together. 😁

Btw, we received email from Potomac Service Center that they received our Respond to RFE yesterday and they are reviewing it. So, fingers crossed for us. We hope to hear about our approval soon. 🙏🙏🙏
