I filed an i130 with April 12th  priority date, I then filed an i128F/k3 after receiving NOA1. On September 25th I received a text and email saying my i129F was closed because the petitioner or the applicants received benefits or status through other means. But our i130 is still in received status. Clearly we did not receive any benefits or status  so I'm extremely frustrated at this point with the discrepancy

This is actually a great sign!! Usually once your I-130 is approved they close the K3. It should show up soon. You should definitely call & see if they can confirm your approval.

truelove29. I have been calling them everyday and they keep telling me my case is still being processed. I even asked one of the representative why would the reason for the closure of our K3 be that we received benefits or status if our case is still processing and he said because we have an i130 in the system. I told him that doesn't make sense having a petition in the system does not necessarily gives us status or benefits , he said yes that's true🤦🏽‍♀️And every time they transfer me to a tier2 the hold time is 100 or 108 minutes at this point  i'm so desperate for answers I would put my phone on speak until someone comes on. But no option to stay on hold only to leave my number and someone will call me back but that never happens.

That's really frustrating that they don't call you back. I only did that once & someone called back about an hour later (with no answers to my question, but at least they called). That's unacceptable to say they'll have someone call & they don't. Well, the other good news is that you're at Potomac, they are currently processing April, so you should hear something really soon.

Don't worry, they've been giving you wrong information I'm 100% sure your I 130 has been approved already, thats why they closed the K3 application, they say whatever they want just for fun , but of course your NOA2 letter is on the way.

k3 is obsolete and I haven't heard anybody got approved on K3 in recent years. Unnecessary application can cause delays on the process. They probably closed your I129F, since you already have IR1/CR1 in progress. Closing K3 does not mean that your I-130 is already approved. If you signed up for email notification, you will get an email, when your I-130 will get approved. You will also get a hard copy of NOA2 by mail. Good Luck

Go to the Page 25 of this thread and look for "Jenkurai" posts , he posted he's 129 k3 application was updated and closed days before he received the NOA2 letter.   it was in the same service center. So it looks like it's gonna be the same case.

Every case is different. It means that they are reviewing the case and will get approval any day unless they require anything else. Best way to check is go to USCIS website and check your case status by using receipt number

but if you want to submit a K3 you have to send first the I-130, its obvious that its going to be in the system....

I was going to submit my K3 just to be able to enter the US faster but they told me that now K3 are really rear and most of the time they dont get approved because you have the I130 open ... but I have seen people here thet they submit it and it gets closed because they I130 gets approved ... I think that maybe they get the I129f on hand and they prefer to approve the I130 instead on d K3

Good luck and I hope you get your approved letter Soon...

To me its more like you got your I-130 approved that's why they close the k3 and plus you are close to the month they are working on

Yes. USCIS now prefer IR1/CR1 rout than K3. So, first they close K3, then approved I-130 to push it for IR1/CR1. That's why I have said that they are reviewing the case and will get approval any day unless they is any rfe

The email and text did not say it was closed because we have a IR1 in process, it said closed because benefits or status received through other means.

When they say "through other means" that has to be IR1/CR1 since they closed K3. I would suggest you to create a profile on USCIS website, add your case number and  then sign up for SMS and email alerts on approval. You will not have to worry about calling USCIS or anything. You will  get alerts as soon as status changed.  I have applied for my wife, mom, brother and sister. I have created a profile on USCIS and added all those cases and signed up for SMS and email alerts. So far everything went ok. I got alerts through SMS and email on every approval

I did create a profile. And that's what I thought also that our IR1/CR1 was approved since that's the only other  Application we have in the system. But our I130 is still in received status. But I've been seeing people saying that they got the NOA2 by mail and online status remains the same saying received. I have my fingers crossed hoping for some news soon

yes I have read that a lot of people get the approval letter by mail and days after the oline status change

Congratulations!! How and What did u tell the tier 2 officer? because when I talked to Tier 2, he kept saying we are still working on January 2017 cases for Potomac so you just have to wait.  Its frustrating because I have seen April cases get approved.

You see, every case is diferente but they proceed almost in the same way, every time they close the 129f is because they have touched the I 130 or they have approved already, and don't trust the online status not even if you have created an account, in some cases the status remains the same for a month after the approval.
