It varies.  I'll give you my case:

-NVC closed case on Dec 11th

-Email notification for interview appointment on Dec 15th

-Interview on January 10th

As long as you schedule the physical examination/immunizations 2 to 3 weeks prior to your interview, (to give the physician time to generate results) you should be fine.

I'm excited for you!

Thank you mrsani !!! U the best !

HI everyone! Our case was at Potomac with a PD of April 19. I received text message and an email today stating there has been an update to our case and to check the online case status for more information. When I checked the status had changed  from case received  to case was sent to department of state on 12-22-2017. Potomac center averages 5-6 months but we waited over 8 months. I have not received an approval notice via mail yet. Those from April and May still waiting, it is coming. Keep the faith.

Where do i find a priority date for my case?

It is on the receipt notice that you should have received with your case number. It is sometimes referred to as NOA1.

Oh so that is after the I-130 is approved?

No dear.   Your priority date marks the day that the processing center has received your application.   Like @CK+MH said,  this date is listed on the first notice of receipt which is sent out months before the approval.   Hope this helps 😊

Oh i Understand, so if They received it in April, my priority date is in April and that is when my case should be complete? Is that how it goes. Sorry if I'm asking too many questions.

Yes if they received your application in April,  that is your priority date.   Once your application is approved, USCIS will send you a 2nd notice of receipt.  You should receive this notice 5 to 6 months from your priority date (depending on which center has your case).
