Coming up on the two week countdown until the interview. After all of the waiting it is hard to believe this is not a dream and that this is all really happening. Months and months of imagining the interview day and it is just within our grasp.

Good luck to everyone else waiting for their interview date to be assigned, and to those who have their interviews coming up this next month.

Hi! We had a 3-hour layover before our final destination, and it was enough for us. We flew into the airport in the middle of the day (11ish) and we finished all the lining up for luggage and immigration around 1:15PM. I'm not sure if it would take longer though if say you fly in the afternoon or the busy evening...

thank you :-)

Haha! I also think of it as our "fate", but then again, what are the chances things will go wrong on interview day? I really see it as an overglorified formality, based on the success rates I have seen. As long as we have all of the paperwork in order, is there really much chance of not getting the visa?

agreed!  Im not from a high fraud country.  My embassy requires all documents except my passport the week before my interview ... they have already emailed me the couple of extra items they want me to bring after the stuff i dropped off this week.  So I feel like the interview shouldn't be a stress.

Also, I've already experienced an embassy interview years ago for my B1/B2, and for my daughters record of birth abroad interview last year. So I'm not at all scared of the interview environment at all, which is nice.

The only thing I lack control over is what my medical results say, which I won't see til the interview date.

Anybody here with a consulate that requires registration of courier and an already given appointment date????

Jamaica required it prior to the interview.  That's how we received the passports back.

I know you have to select a DHL location but did you also register your appointment date? My consulate requires registration of the appointment date that I'm given and I'm having a problem doing that. The system won't let me do that.

Yep, we registered for the appointment right before selecting the courier service, right on the same page where we signed up for the courier.

I assume you have accessed the page from the NVC website with the instructions for interview preparation for your embassy?

Hi guys!!! It's been a while!

So I entered the US via Los Angeles Airport (LAX) POE two days ago. I didn't have any troubles at all with the immigration. The officer at the counter basically took my packet and passport (and gave back my x-ray CD), then radioed for someone else to come pick me and my husband up and take us to secondary check. I was only asked when we got married--the rest of the time he was inside his tiny room inputting stuff on his computer. After a few minutes he emerged from said room with instructions about green card mail, etc. He gave me a CR1 visa since we haven't been married for two years upon my entry.

I kinda hoped he would say the usual "Welcome to America!" final words, but he didn't which was a bit anti-climactic lol. He mumbled a short "welcome" and we were on our way out.

Good luck to everyone still waiting for interview dates and interviews!

Yay, congratulations :)

glad to hear it all went well!  I was looking at flights (as my interview is next week and I'll fly basically within a week of my visa arriving) and thought I'd have to allow a 5+ hour layover in LAX .... before flying onto my final destination. But it sounds like it won't take that long, would you say I'm being over the top allowing that long?

Good luck on your interview :) wishing you all the best
