It definitely varies, the fastest i know was 3 days, mine  2 weeks, 

while others took longer

Basal, it all depends on your embassy/consulate... and even then you cannot depend solely on what others from your embassy/consulate have been given. For example; Egypt, for the months of October 2016 - January 2017, anyone who was CR-1/IR-1 was scheduled an interview date 2 weeks to 1 month maximum. Now since March 2017, I have not seen anyone from Egypt who is CR-1/IR-1 scheduled. My case complete was March 7 and I am still waiting...

I spoke to some other members who had interviews out of Egypt and some of them said it took only 2 months after their CC and other's said 5-6 months. So as far as Egypt goes... who knows when they will actually schedule.

 

An NVC rep  explained to me that it mainly depends on the availability of the CO... that the embassy does other diplomatic work that requires their time, thus in some months they are available and some they are not. Have you checked on others who have timelines similar to your from Iraq? It may help to ask someone who's actually being processed at that embassy/consulate to have a better idea of when to expect an interview date.

Thanks! I knew calling every day would be worth it. The rep who told me two days ago that it had only been a week since case complete and that there was no way I could get an interview so soon really had no clue what they were talking about. The VisaJourney data is spot on; I knew we would be assigned for May.

Got the interview scheduled now! We're so lucky we didn't have to wait very long.
