Can a petitioner pay for Ds160 - K1 Visa

Timeline

Hey guys, I wonder if my fiance - US peitioner can pay for my K1 visa fee, Ds-160 in America? I might have a family trip outside of the country at that moment but we also don't want to delay our process. If yes, what things he needs to have? Thank you so much :)  

K1 VISA TIMELINE:

 

 

11/09/16 --- I-129F mailed to Lewisville, TX
11/12/16 --- Delivered at Dallas Lock Box

11/16/16 --- NOA1 Date on hard copy notice

11/17/16 --- NOA1 Text and Email. Case sent to CSC

11/26/16 --- NOA1 hard copy received

03/16/17 --- NOA2 - 4 months of waiting 

03/25/17 --- NOA2 hard copy received

04/03/17 --- Case number received (18 days)

04/05/17 --- Case number sent to US Consular in HCM city

04/10/17 --- Case is ready (5 days shipping)

05/03/17--- Vaccination & Medical Exam

05/22/17--- Interview APPROVED! YAY!!!

05/24/17--- Visa was issued

05/27/17--- Visa in hand

06/16/17--- POE San Francisco

06/30/17--- Got married.

 

AOS TIMELINE:

08/25/17--- Sent AOS application to Chicago, IL

08/28/17--- Delivered.

09/??/17--- NOA1 Date on hard copy

Unfortunately not. It has to be paid locally and in MYR.

ROC filed on December 1, 2020, assigned to SRC, approved within 106 days on February 18, 2021.

@Chi&Clint I am so, so sorry. I confused you with another couple who had a Clint in the name too :lol:

The DS-160 is tricky. I sent money to VN via Western Union and she had to make payment in dong. There's probably a way to do it online, but it seems everyone just sends money and then the VN girlfriend/boyfriend converts it and pays. After that, the rest is pretty easy. Good luck!!!

Yes, online you can decide how the recipient receives the money. You can choose for them to receive in dong or USD.

K-1 Journey

02/23/2017 - I-129F Package Sent via USPS

03/06/2017 - Received NOA1 Hard Copy

06/05/2017 - Received NOA2 Hard Copy

06/12/2017 - NVC Case # Assigned

06/23/2017 - Packet 3 Delivered

06/28/2017 - DS-160 Complete

7/10/2017 - Interview Scheduled for 08/08/2017

8/08/2017 - Interview passed! K-1 approved!

+1. Plus, from past experience, if you specify that your recipient will receive in VN Dong, Western Union takes a cut (in form of currency conversion rate) in addition to the transfer fees. But if you tell it in USD, you just pay the transfer fees and your recipient will get whatever you send them in USD.
