They are only asking to see a cancelled check not that your pay check is going into what account.  They want proof that you and your spouse have a joint account.  Do as @MyJourney said and rip a check out of the check book and write VOID across it.  You should be good to go with that. Best wishes!

Not to play devil's advocate , but honestly, having a joint account that neither parties use is useless as proof as bona fide.

You can open up a joint account for a Girlscouts club with your neighbor and it wouldn't prove you are married to them.

The burden of proof is to show this is a bona fide marriage and financial rights and obligations are shared by both spouses. In which case although a joint checking account may not see a direct deposit in it, it would see money coming in and out for various cash deposits, common bills / checks/ groceries etc...

So if the IO really wanted to cause trouble they would get the check and then request the account activity.

Again, not trying to disillusion anyone, only stating that the officer can only make a decision based on common sense evidence.

The OP did not say that they don't use it, she just said that she deposits her salary into a different account. I agree with your points, however, this (cancelled check from a joint account) is exactly what the USCIS asked for and therefore I do not think there is room for speculations and assumptions about whether or not it will be helpful.

Quick question guys, part of the additional doc they requested for was 3yrs of fed tax filed jointly prior to filling n400. Now i filled in july 2016. I have the yrs from 2013-2015 that we filed jointly. Do you think they would ask for 2016? I do have the 2016 but it is Amended  i dont wanna include it to raise questions what do you think?

If you did not file jointly for 3 years, if you have separate finances......you better come up with good explanation for all this. Good luck.

I never knew that  every couple in USA  file taxes Jointly. I thought it is couple's preference how they deal with their finance.

Every couple does not, many have separate accounts.  However, they do not require proving their relationship to anyone either.

Yes we did filled for 3yrs. Was just asking if i should include 2016 tax but it was Amended but was filled jointly.

Then great! I apologize for the misunderstanding. I would personally take everything filed since the marriage and explain why you had to amend the 2015 taxes (if you filed in 2016, then it is 2015 taxes, I believe). Remember, they are not tax auditors, they are asking this as a proof of strong financial ties between you and your spouse, look at it that way.

Yes, sure. I am sorry if I created confusion. I am just seeing from the immigration perspective and looking at it as a way of showing strong financial ties/bonds between a married couple. I should note, however, while I was married, we always filed jointly because that was in the best financial interests of our family. But everyone is different. I just shared my humble opinion.

In general, the strength of family ties, which is the primary object of concern here, is assessed by the level of INTERdependence and not INdependence. Therefore, I believe, the less financial interdependence you show, the more your marriage's bona fide status will be scrutinized. Family is all about interdependence.

Main purpose of tax transcript is to so that you are bonafide and law abiding resident. However joint word creates a confusion.  Filing jointly is better most of the time but not all the time. For financial ties, you need to send rent receipt, utility bills, joint bank accounts, grocery bills, mortgage, insurance etc.Again this is what i understand. I might be wrong.

It can take some time between being placed in line for the oath ceremony and having the ceremony scheduled. In my case, it took about a month, but it depends on how regularly your field office schedules oath ceremonies. You should receive another email update when the oath ceremony is scheduled, and the actual letter containing the date and location would take another few days after that.
