@wqw89: On second thoughts, I think I may just wait to do it the day after or maybe even later in the day. That will give me time to make a high resolution digital copy of the only proof citizenship while I wait for the passport. You'll have to send the certificate of naturalization with the application.

@Hagrid @Angel19 I am a SF filer.  Send N-400 on 2/28/17 and have Oath on 11/9/17, that’s 254 days. I think you are still well within normal processing times.  Just be patient, your day will come.

regards to the passport application I received the application in the white envelop they give you when you sign in  at the Oath , there was no onside passport booth , 

I would not have used the passport booth if they had one ,

since I wanted to scan and print a copy,  gave me a piece of mind of having at least a copy of the certificate before sending it out with the passport application

Probably delay on my end. Button was stuck on "saving" for a little while after I hit "submit reply".

Was reading up on the process and didn't like that requirement of submitting the original certificate.

Very important to me. I make high resolution digital copies of everything. Stored on encrypted local disk and in the cloud. 2-factor authentication is required with every login attempt to access cloud files. It annoys me sometimes (especially when my cell is out of reach) but I love having that extra layer of security.

I couldn’t find any information regarding the on-site passport booth at the ceremony in NYC but I do know that there is one passport acceptance facility 7 blocks away from the location (assuming we will be swearing in at the same location). I have finished my passport application and am planning on applying the same day since I’m traveling internationally soon.

Yea I was thinking about that as well. I will bring my iPad with me so that i can scan and save the certificate. There is also a fedex store one block away from the passport acceptance facility so I will stop by there to make a copy before I submit both my application and certificate.

one more advice at my ceremony ,the officer made sure to point out " DO NOT laminate the original certificate "

this will make the Certificate invalid and you would have to file for a replacement which costs 600$

People who have already attended their Interview . Can you please check and let me know if i am missing anything:

 

1) 2 Photograph

2) 3 Years Tax transcript. ( I have only 2 but i have paid the Taxes for last year. Hopefully it will show no dues by Oct 10th). I have the receipts showing the payment. Will that help?

3) Front and back of the green card.

4) I had a traffic ticket which my lawyer said not to worry. It was already  paid . $367. Should i disclose it at the Interview.

5) Will take the addendum of my Travel history after N 400 was filed.

6) Divorce decree.

 

Please let me know if i am missing anything?

Thanks! Still trying to decide on what to wear. I love jeans. I wore jeans to my interview. I looked very presentable of course. I was thinking of doing a shirt, tie and blazer with jeans and dress shoes but the wife says no jeans so slacks it is (or is it?). I've heard of people being sent home for wearing jeans but the act of wearing jeans to the oath may not have been the only reason. Some said they wore it with t-shirt and sneakers.

 

BTW: There's no outright ban on jeans like some suggests. They just ask that you "dress in proper attire..."
