American baby born, waiting for fiance

Hello,

 

Me and my American girlfriend filed for K1 on 09.12.2016 and are still waiting for progress. She was pregnant when we started it and we were hoping to finish the process before the birth. Yesterday the birth happened and we have a beautiful healthy baby and she's happy and alright, too. Even though we didn't expect anything, we also applied for an expedite process before but got no response on that either.

 

Now that our child is born, I just want to go and see them. I guess every father understands this :) I will surely wait for the end of our K1 Visa but I want to visit them as well, which might be problematic as I changed my employer just recently and was officially unemployed for a few months before. Is there anyone with experience who could make a suggestion about how to proceed?

Will the born baby make any difference for a visa or can it change the length of the process? I'd surely contact the embassy to find out more, it's just too tricky to get through and to get an answer.

 

Please tell me also if there is anything that we have to take into consideration due to our baby.

You can certainly visit using your ESTA. I did this several times during the K1 process. 

 

The baby born to the USC mother will not change your visa processing. You will want to bring his/her birth certificate to your interview. The baby must also be accounted for as a dependent on your fiancées affidavit of support.

If it isn't difficult, it isn't worth it.

 

K1 process

Your timeline lists your embassy as in Turkey but your flag says Germany

If you are a German Passport holder you can visit using your ETSA

Lol, I'm sorry. That's misleading. Corrected it. I was born in Germany but I'm unfortunately a Turkish citizens. Thanks!

The good news is, you should have your NOA2 soon if you have not gotten it already (if you have please update your timeline)

and from there you should have everything completed relatively soon

Don't have it yet... I was expecting to have it by now. Will probably call the USCIS then.

That changes things. You could visit if you had a B1/B2, but I guess you don't.

 

Congratulations on your baby and good luck on your visa journey.

If it isn't difficult, it isn't worth it.

I would personally not bother calling, there is nothing they will be able to tell you

You are still within normal processing time (5 months) once you are outside of that time then you can call and file a service request
