Proof of "On-Going Relationship"

My fiance have mostly chatted on Whatsapp and we have endless hours of texting everyday. Unfortunately with whatsapp dates (without messages) are not archived clearly like on a phone bill. I just have archives of entire conversations. For example in 1 month I have over 86 pages of dialogue. Does anyone have any suggestions for what I should do? I thought of documenting each day we chatted by creating an Excel log, but to me it doesn't seem "very authentic". I noticed online some people used screen shots but I would have no idea how much should I screen shot, and should I black out the actual text on photoshop? Sorry everyone, I'm totally lost! Any help on this issue would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!

I took the archive of the actual messages and pasted them into a word document. I then read through the texts and selected at least one conversation from each week to submit. I made sure to include the time stamp from the message. I made sure the conversations included talk about our future, getting to know each other's families and some sweet messages between my hubby and I. It would probably good for you to include any discussion about your wedding in the US. It did take sometime to read through all of our chats (about 2,000+ pages), but it showed the CO that we talked consistently and had a genuine relationship.

France is not Ghana.  Produce and include a reasonable amount of material that would convince a third party of the bona fide nature of your relationship.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

I archived my WhatsApp chats, narrowed it down to about 600 pages out of 2500, and then right before the interview, my wife and I are going to narrow it down even further. Blacking out the text might not be a good idea, because the CO could see that as you trying to hide what you're talking about. It takes forever (it took me at least 12 hours) but just go through the archived chats and select what best represents your relationship. It's up to you how much you provide - but be prepared to answer questions about it should the CO ask to see it.

I'm confused since at this point I haven't even sent in the I29-F form. Why is this thread being moved to the Embassy/Consulate forum?

Probably because the question you're asking is specific to your countries embassy. Each embassy is different on what they accept as evidence, so it's not really a one size fits all approach.

If you're asking what evidence of proof of an ongoing relationship to include in the I-129F package, we didn't include anything except 2 or 3 A4 sized paper with various pictures of us together on them.

If you're from France, a screen shot of one conversation per month (approximately) should be more than enough. Make sure NOT to block out any of the actual dialogue.

If it isn't difficult, it isn't worth it.

Good to know, I had no idea that evidence was so specific to each country. I'll try 1 conversation per month (which will still be a lot), and if more is needed I suppose they will just send a RFE.

USCIS only wants to see that you've met in person - so focus on that type of evidence for this part of the process. The ongoing relationship evidence is simply a primer for the consulate interview.

If it isn't difficult, it isn't worth it.

I know France and Ghana are very different countries especially when it comes to immigration. I was simply letting him know what I did. The actual content of what they submit should be similar to mine. Meaning you want quality content not just pages of "I love you," I love you too" type conversations. The big difference is my country required a lot more than his will.

Thanks for clearing that up.

I think that was unnecessary. OP's question was about how to format it NOT the amount of evidence to submit.

Your response didn't give her an answer to her question.

We had a similar situation with much of our daily communication happening via kik which deletes messages over time. As others have said the emphasis in the I-129F is on having met in person so photos of you together, boarding passes etc. are best at this stage. Before my fiance had his embassy interview I printed off key points in our relationship that were chronicled on facebook, e.g. our engagement post and people's reaction, the event page for the engagement party we had in his country, and a few messages every few months to show how our relationship progressed from dating to engaged. The facebook stuff was nice because it showed our friends and family getting to know each other and supporting our relationship. Best of luck to you both :)
