When it concerns ICE (federal government) doing raids they are doing their jobs, which are perfectly legal irrespective of sanctuary policies.

thats because the whole argument is essentially..illegals are criminals, illegals are bad and once we rid ourselves of them by any means necessary we will be so much safer and better off..

Since the FB warning was broadly based, and ICE is currently looking for criminal illegal aliens, then it certainly has the potential effect of aiding and abetting a criminal.

Illegals are rule breakers.  I don't know how many times people told me to have Katya fly to Mexico and cross the border illegally when she couldn't get a visitor visa, but hey, we followed the rules.  Why should someone who doesn't follow the rules be treated differently.  For me, it has nothing to do with fear.  Follow the rules, or lobby for them to be changed.

yeah i don't think so. i think ice would need to be looking for specific individuals and the fb post would have needed to be addressed towards them.

sometimes when there are dui checkpoints in town, like on friday or saturday nights, i've seen in local fb groups where someone will post an update warning people where they are. some people get really annoyed, and voice that opinion, because who wants drunk people driving about to not get caught, no one. but i've never seen anyone get in trouble for it. it's just too broad a platform.

and this is the problem with demonizing illegals. they're not one in the same. many are the family and parents for american citizens, and their continued presence in this country is a benefit. the federal government tearing families a part under the guise of 'catching bad guys' is a farce. and it should make anyone who believes in limited federal government question what's going on with the new crew in charge.

I tend to fall back to the trope of how many times do we say on this site that it's ok to wait a year or sometimes more to AOS after a k1.  K1 overstay is very common around here.  Wrong place and wrong time with the new rules, that k1 spouse can be deported without relief.

and there will be people here who will say that in that situation a deportation would be justified. some people just love others to suffer, because they had to. it would be like me saying, i had to go through a month ap..it was terrible. i want everyone to have to go through that.

Even if one likes illegal immigrants the fact that dangerous criminals are being released back into these jurisdictions in contravention to law should concern anyone. 

 

It should concern the federal government, whose job it is, as established in the constitution.

Going back a second, it seems like there's two classes of illegals here.  The ones who have absolutely zero claims to America and the ones who perhaps do but have several sometimes expensive hoops to jump through like those married to citizens.
