We are waiting to start the NVC process.  If my husband has a job offer and needs to be here sooner will it matter or is it too late.  He recently was offered a job but needs to be here by the end of June/middle of July.  If it does not matter at this point then oh well, but we were just curious.   Thank you for your thoughts.

Hey Krysten -

Are you asking how fast you could potentially get through NVC? If your case has already been sent there -- it is taking about 2 weeks + to get the case number assigned. After that it seems like people have been taking around 3 months (11-12 weeks) to get through everything with mail applications and without a checklist. Some have gone faster and others slower - but that seems to be the new norm for the time being.

Unfortunately, after you clear NVC you have to wait another month or more (depending on your embassy's interview load and when you get case complete) to get assigned an interview... then you must wait another week to get the passport back. I am totally guesstimating here but I would assume an August or September POE for someone just entering NVC at the beginning of April.

Others can correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think a job offer is enough of a reason to get an expedite on an IR-1 or CR-1.

Good luck! Plan for the worst and hope for the best!

Well it takes as long as it takes but the good news is that when he enters he will be work authrorised and will be good to go from day one.

Generally not. The link below lists the expedite criteria. OP can try under "severe financial loss", but I would not be optimistic about the chances of success. It's usually for things that risk the well-being of the individual (think like war/violence, severe medical conditions, etc.), not a job offer.

if they do not expedite so a parent can be there to help with child birth I would doubt they would expedite for a job offer. epically since when interviewing the immigrant knew full well that if you get stuck in ap purgatory it can take years to get to the us if at all. so it is a competely avoidable avoidable. also it is not a financial loss it is a missed financial gain since you both should be able to continue with your current jobs hence no loss but have missed out on a potentially better opportunity. also when filling out job applications did he disclose that he was not able to legally work in the us since he has no green card yet?

also they will not expedite if a person makes wedding plans with deposits or for books non refundable plane tickets. they will say you should have waited till you had visa in hand before you made any plans.

Obviously you have had issues.  We are already married so I really and not worried about any of that. I was just asking a simple question.  It states everywhere do not plan ahead.  My question was just a "what if" to maybe see if we could get him here quicker.  So we will just wait and see how much longer it will take.

being married does not prevent long ap after the interview. as for the "what if" it will have no bearing on speeding up the process since that is a perfectly avoidable scenario and they will not let your actions force thier hand.
