Case approved.

PD: 06/01/17

NOA2: 01/02/18 (215 days)

Center: Texas

No case status update online. Found out about it via letter in mail.

US Citizen

Approval notice states:

"The above petition has been approved.  As the petitioner requests, we have sent the petition to the US Dep.... NVC, 32 Rochester Ave, Portsmouth, NH.... The NVCprocesses approved immigrant visa petitions that need consular action.  It also determines which consular post is the appropriate consulate to complete the visa processing.  The NVC will then forward the approved petition to that consulate.

The NVC will contact the beneficiary of this petition with further information about immigrant visa processing steps.

You should allow a minimum of 30 days for the US Department of State processing before contacting the NVC...."

Question: Does this mean the petition is now sent to NVC? Or is this standard reply? I am afraid Texas takes a long time to send petition to NVC. Does anyone know ways to expedite this process?

Congratulations for your approval even i also received the Same letter .no status updated on website yet.

Good morning,

I contacted a Tier2 on Wednesday...  He stated that my case still in process and he also stated that whenever a person receives an RFE and send a response USCIS then send the info to the embassy for further investigation and until they receive a response back by the embassy they do not continue to work on the case (until the info is received).  As per the Tier2 he stated that my case to be approved can take from 1 year to a year and half since everything depends on the embassy and that sometimes the embassy take their sweet time to confirm the information to USCIS..

I don't know what to believe this is the first time that I hear something similar.  But I guess the only thing I can do is to continue waiting.

A little history... My RFE -  USCIS requested a divorce paper between my husband and the mother of my stepdaughter.  They were never married so I sent a notarized letter explaining that they were NEVER married.  They received the RFE response on 10/20/2017 and updated the USCIS system on: 10/23/2017 and since then I have been waiting.  My PD is 4/7/2017.

I-130 for my step daughter

4/6 - I-130 sent USPS

4/7- I-130 received at Chicago Lockbox

4/12 - Money order cashed

4/13 - Notice of acceptance (Text/ email) - Case assigned to TEXAS

4/18 - Notice of acceptance (regular mail USPS)

10/4- RFE - for intial evidence notice online

10/19/2017 RFE notice received

10/20/17 - RFE response sent

10/21/2017 - RFE delivered to USCIS address

10/23/2017 - USCIS system updated " Response to USCIS request for evidence was received

1/22/2018 - Approved (Tier2 informed me by phone)

2/8/2018 - Case Sent to NVC

2/21/2018 - NVC received case

3/30/2018 - Case & Invoice number over the phone

3/30/2018 - DS-261 completed

4/2/2018 - Welcome letter by email

4/3/2018 -  Paid $120 & $325

4/10/2018 - Sent IV & AOS documents

4/11/2018 -  Post office delivered documents to NVC

4/11/2018 - Completed DS260

4/23/2018 -  Case Completed

Lies... what has the embassy got to do with cases pertaining to the petitioner? If the RFE is for the beneficiary especially for step children like in your case, that may be true but certainly not in all cases..

Abies,

exactly very confusing what the rep informed me.  I decided to continue waiting patiently because it seems that USCIS has a different story for everytime that I called.

I don't know what's wrong with them, every time I called n speak with Tier 2 they tell me something different, on Monday they told me my case was still pending, on tuesday they told me my file is waiting for security checks, yesterday they told me they are working in February filers and I will have to wait 4 months more, And in January 6th I received a letter from uscis with this response to my inquiry "we have had to perform additional review and this has caused a delay in processing time. Your case is currently with an adjudication officer. You should receive a decision or notice of further action within 60 days" . So honestly IDK what's true 🌝.

Just a little update on waiting times.

I130 approved 11/18...

-It took 6 weeks for my petition to be SENT to the NVC (12/29)

-Now I am waiting for my NVC receipt number which could take up to 6 weeks.

That's great! I think maybe 3 and 1/2 weeks is about right. Start bugging them after 2 weeks.
