More post-holiday progress:

- 3 cases on Dec 6 sent to DOS

- 1 case on Dec 6 sent Request for Additional Evidence

- 1 case on Dec 15 sent Request for Initial Evidence

- 2 cases on Dec 16 sent to DOS

- 1 case on Dec 22 sent to DOS

- 10 cases on Dec 23 sent to DOS

- 1 case on Dec 22 sent Request for Initial Evidence

- 1 case on Dec 27 sent Request for Additional Evidence

- 1 case on Dec 27 APPROVED

- 2 cases on Dec 27 sent to DOS

Quite cheerful for the limited number of cases i'm following, (Around 200 cases in Dec i'm still following at NOA1).

Here is the strange part:

All the cases i follow should be showing "Case was received", and the next day some will be showing Approved and some will be showing "Case sent to DOS", which i assume should be the normal procedure since majority of cases will move on to NVC. And NOA2 meaning case complete hence sent to NVC and then they start the DS261 etc. according to what other who has received it.

They cant skip straight to APPROVED can they? (This status is rare on the track result)

I'm assuming it should go from 'Case was received' to 'Case was approved', then to 'Case sent to DOS'.

In our case, we didn't received any notification that we were approved, we only found out when we received the NOA2 in the post. Our status online was still showing 'Case was received'. Then around 10 days after our approval date our status changed to 'Case was sent to DOS'.

So many people have written the same thing. I think the app is super helpful to get an idea of where they are, but there are definitely approvals we aren't hearing about in real time.

Also, the I-130 form is used for other visas (F1, F2, etc.) that don't have the same preference as spouses and other immediate relatives and there's no way to tell in the app what type of via the form was filed for. So, not all of the pending I-130s are in line ahead of us :)

Hi there! My name is Mohamed and I filed i 130 petition for Alien Relative on 9/22/2016.                                           9/26/2016 USCIS  recieved my case form i130, petition for Alien Relative to my wife.  02/24/2017 USCIS transferred my case to another office in Texas that now has jurisdiction over my case.               5/03/2017 USCIS mailed a request for initial evidence for my case.  I sent their request immediately after I recieved initial evidence notice for i 130 petition, Alien Relative.  On May 15, 2017 we recieved your response to our  request for evidence for your form i 130 petition for Alien Relative.  Our Texas Service Center office will begin working on your case again. We will mail you a decision or notify you if we needs something from you.  After that, I did not recieve any Approval to my case and now it's almost 9 months without a decision to my case.  My question is what should I do next to my case for I 130, petition for Alien Relative?

The transfer has surely slowed things down unfortunately...   Were you able to provide the information that was requested on May 3rd?  If you did, this is good and, to be honest, you are at least getting some response from USCIS whereas most of us are just waiting without any response yet!

Best of luck

Agreed. All I'm doing is to keep myself busy and distracted, but among all I-130 cases at least I know where they are at regardless what sort of petition they are.

still in late December nothing in Jan yet from today...

Thank you so much for giving these updates everyday :) I really appreciate it. I go through the app to0, but I'm not following specific cases.

I was trying to dig up the article I saw awhile ago about how immigration attorneys couldn't keep up with the demand in late Dec as people were trying to get their forms in before the fees went up and Trump was sworn in. We just have to wait through this backlog and hope it's a bit quicker after that :/
