But spouse's birth certificate is required later at the NVC stage? Why would they ask for it now?

Agree. I didn't send my wife Birth certificate as well and it is not even on the checklist.

Yes I know we also thought it was strange because we knew it wasn't a requirement. Iv spoken to a few other couples on here though and they had the same

My PD is 6th Dec 2016. Got my NOA2 on April 8th. I'm currently waiting for my case complete from NVC. Been waiting for almost 9weeks. The waiting is so frustrating. I found this forum and just wanted to check the USCIS progress and I feel really bad for whining about how long I've been waiting for my case to be completed at NVC 😐 Sorry for you guys who have been waiting for your NOA2 since January! Even there are few from December PD. I hope all of you got your case approved at USCIS real soon and smoothly! Hang in there.

Did a copy of your birth certificate suffice or did you need to get a certified original copy?

A copy is fine. You only need to take the Original to the interview

I was about to send a copy yesterday and it crossed my mind that they may need a certified original but Iv been told by a few people a copy is fine so will send that today :)

Thank you :)

Whats the difference between the initial and additional evidence require?

Initial would mean something was missing. Like a document was forgotten.

Additional will mean adding more to help support evidence already included.
