Hello Everyone,

My online  case status changed to approved on Feb 7 2018. PD was July 19 2017. How long it is going to take before I am gonna hear from NVC??

Thank You

It varies..if you call NVC they will tell them give them six weeks before they get the case from USCIS and another two weeks to assign a case number. My NOA2 was from 01/04/18 and they mailed it to NVC on 02/01/18 and NVC received it on 02/09/18 and I am still waiting for a case number-called today and they said to just keep calling back..

I have seen NVC get cases faster than mine and I have seen it go slower (based on other timelines) You just have to keep calling if you want to do something or just wait

You were right!!!! Approved 1/31!!! This fukking nightmare is finally done. What is next? I know NVC but do I need a lawyer for that? I hired/paid for one for uscis filing but now they are asking for more $ to handle NVC. Can I do it myself or would it be wise to use lawyer services?

You will have some time NVC gets your case and assigns a case number..use this time to read through the NVC guides and the problems other NVC filers had so you can avoid them (there are NVC filers topics under IR1/CR1 forum) and put together the papers you need. I recently also posted asking if I got everything and someone replied with what they did that pretty much covers everything you need for NVC-go through those too-might be helpful!

You really don't need a lawyer

No problem..and I would advice you to go ahead and get everything ready for the NVC stage so that you don't have to wait long after you get a case number- like get the police clearance certificates, irs transcripts, translate birth certificates etc, i.e. things that take time

Has anyone done an expedite? My attorney sent our expedite last Thursday. I haven't heard anything yet and status online still says case received. Just wondering how long it takes them to respond. My attorney said we should get a response within 2-3 weeks but I am sure I have read about people getting a response within 5 days or something.
