Department Review?

I recently called the NVC for any case status. They told me that it was just delivered to the department for review and they don't have a time frame in that department. What does this mean? Is this normal? Is this a supervisory review?

Hi, how long did it take for  them to receive your case?  I don't think you should worry because I have read that it takes them a few weeks to load the case into their system and create a case number.   My I-130 was approved on 03/16/2017 and sent to NVC but I have not heard anything from NVC, and I called them yesterday and they said that they have not received my case yet.

Same date as me! I called yesterday too and they stated 6 weeks but from what I see in forums, it's usually about 2-3.

They received my case in January however, they just said that it was received by the review department earlier this week. I don't what that really means as far as how much time I have to wait...

Do you know how long the review dept will keep your case?

No because before it was up to 8 weeks for to know whether it will be Case complete or not but now they changed the time frame to up to 11 weeks. I'm just confused now. It's really hard being that I just gave birth to our son a few months ago. Raising a kid without the other parent is hard. I really miss my husband.

OOH, honey I understand what your going through.  I haven't seen my husband since Jan 1st and is driving me crazy, just the day to day stuff is hard not having that person there to help you out because his so far away.  Are you doing the K-1 visa or the I-130 ?

Yeah of 2017, I try to go every 3 months but since we got the approval and now we have to pay all the fees we decided to just wait until the Interview for me to travel.  I hope the interview happens at the beginning of the summer but since they are working so slow it prob won't happen so, at this point not sure when I'll see him again.

  • 3 weeks later...

Just got my case and invoice number and just completed my DS261.... so happy:jest: it says to wait 2 weeks before you move on to the next step, does it really take 2 weeks or has anyone here been lucky to get access sooner?
