It won't be an issue for you to use your parents' address in the US :) But of course you gotta make sure they scan and e-mail you the full documentation when the time comes.

For my I-129F, K-1, AOS, EAD, AP and ROC detailed timelines, please refer to my timeline page :)

ROC filed on December 1, 2020, assigned to SRC, approved within 106 days on February 18, 2021.

My sincerest gratitude to all VJers, especially the late geowrian.

Which mailing address should we use on the I-130 while we both live together abroad?

I'm thinking of using my parent's address in the US for our mailing address and they can scan/email any documentation - does that sound good?

@jeff27 Yes using your parents address is fine. I had to use my parents address as well, since I live with my husband abroad. Just like KULtoATL said, just be sure they scan and send you everything.

Good Luck :)

There is no place on the I-130 or G325a forms to use a separate mailing address.  If you are living abroad together, you enter the same address abroad for both of you.  You can use your parents' address for the address where the beneficiary intends to live when they arrive in the USA.

USCIS had us change our mailing address to my US address, although I am living with my husband abroad. So in the end I had to have it changed to my US address anyways (my parents address- temporary address).

I filed from abroad with our overseas address.  We filled out the G325a form so that we were emailed notifications from USCIS and once you get to NVC stage they communicate only by email anyway.

I also filed G325a and they never entered my information into their system, lost the form and then entered both my US and European address incorrectly into their system making me totally un-reachable. It took me a few weeks to sort it out - so g325a doesn't always work!

We also filed from abroad and filled out the G325a form... I only received one email notification from USCIS and that was only when they received out petition and sent it to Nebraska Service Center. After that I received absolutely nothing... even when we 'ordered' an RFE, I never received a notification. They never updated their system and blamed the problem on not having a US address. So in the end I had to use my parents address. NVC is so much easier, but you have to get through USCIS first.

USCIS cannot automatically expedite your case if they don't know you both live abroad.

Neither did I. I think the only country currently receiving an expedite is The Philippines, but even then it's not consistent!

Same here ladies, my address was my address abroad and never was my case expedited; even with some of the problems we had it was never given as a option.

This is because they cannot change a foreign address in their computer system.
