There's a new series of Property Ladder starting tonight. Sarah Beeny's boobs are very popular in this house...my husband can't stop staring. I let him look.

Ahhh I loved the Beeny. Not for her boobs though, but because she can re-wire and re-plumb and entire house by herself.

i love property ladder -- people ignoring the advice of an experienced developer because they know best usually to fail spectacularly.

I liked the gay couple designer guys too -- can't remember the name of their show. They produce an uber-trendy designed pad for a family with small children and begin to cry when the client doesn't understand their vision.

Colin and Justin?

Classic TV in the making, especially when they would get into a strop, normally with each other or the woman in charge of ordering all of the furnishings!

And since the property market is still buoyant here, they think that they were right all along and Sarah Beeny was a complete moron, completely neglecting to consider that their profit would have been even bigger if they had taken her advice.

You should have seen the dolts that were on tonight...I've not seen more slappable people on TV in a long time. At least not since the last episode of 'Wife Swap'.

I think the programme with the two gay designer guys is "how not to decorate" and I absolutely love it. Its more an insight into their lives and the life of their assistant than anything else. Brilliant tv. I truly miss Eastenders, but a lot of the things we are now getting on BBC America so its not so bad. Loved Nighty Night and bought the series DVD here, The office (obviously), anything with Gordon Ramsay in it, Bad Girls, Footballers Wives, Wire in the Blood, Grange Hill (my childhood literally revolved around it), eviction night on Big Brother, Walking with Dinosaurs.

Ahhh Wife Swap. There's TV I don't miss!

It was worth watching the Edwina Currie & John McCririck episode though. Train wreck TV at its finest.

I ended up watching Property Ladder last night after reading about it here.

Did you see the twits who put that tiny garage in the middle of the house and still ended up selling for £500k? Ridiculous!

Edited to add: Nova people - Property ladder is the ideal show to get a rather large ratio!

I am the USC, but my fiance and I like the same British shows. They are all pretty much comedies. Our favorites are:

Peep Show

The other Mitchell and Webb shows

The Mighty Boosh

The League of Gentlemen

Brass Eye

The Day Today

The IT Crowd

The Armando Iannucci Show

I Am Not An Animal

Big Train

The Fast Show

My fiance also really like Nighty Night, but I still need to see it.

I've looked at this whole thread and I don't think anyone has mentioned "Danger Mouse" or "The Young Ones". Am I old? hehe. I'll never outgrow Danger Mouse, my fiance' is my Penfold...

There are so many. I'm Alan Partridge, Father Ted, Red Dwarf, Little Britain [though I confess, only the first series really does it for me], Yes Minister, Goodness Gracious Me, Fawlty Towers, The Office, Inspector Morse, Only Fools & Horses, and loads of others. I love the documentaries from the U.K., like "Planet Earth", "Simon Schama's History Of Britain", and "David Starkey's Monarchy" as well.

I also admit that I will catch "Keeping Up Appearances" as a guilty pleasure and find myself laughing. I can't freakin' help myself.

My fiance' laughs heartily at the American version of 'The Antiques Roadshow" because Americans get excited if they have an object from 1912. He's like "1912!! hahaha! The doorknobs in my house are older than that!". It amuses him.

Just as aside for anyone who has trouble getting series on American DVD. I couldn't afford a multi-region player and couldn't find all the series I wanted on US DVD, so I simply hacked the player I have. Most player models have simple hacks available online, you just search your player model for 'Region Free Hack" or similiar criteria, and most likely you can find easy hacks. It's usually a series of simple inputs with your remote [like cheat codes on video games] but sometimes you just have to download a driver, burn it to a disc and put it in to be read. The main tip I'd have is to definately look at multiple pages so you find some consensus among users as to which region free code will work on your player [Phillips models are the easiest to find hacks for].

Everyone might know that already, but I just thought I'd mention since sometimes you can't get good series on American DVDs and not everyone has access to torrents and things. And as far as I know, there's nothing illegal about it at all. It's just a matter of making sure you get the right code for your model. Hope that was helpful!

Speaking of Planet Earth, anyone else as livid as I am that they replaced David Attenborough's narration with Sigorney Weaver on the Discovery channel version? Oh well, at least the DVD will have the original version, I'm waiting for it to come through Netflix now.

I think you can catch a lot more US crime type shows at normal times if you have freeview on the Five US channel. That channel just started fall 2006. Neil and I really got in to that new Robin Hood show on BBC. Also, I love Max & Paddy, Hollyoaks (I couldn't stop watching it), and I really got into that show Sugar Rush on 4. Crazy teenage lesbian.

Life is a ticket to the greatest show on earth.
