I wonder if we could file N-400 online @my.uscis.gov ?

Quick look on USCIS's website gave me the answer.

"At this time, you cannot submit Form N-400 applications online."

Excuse me where did you get this message from  "At this time, you cannot submit Form N-400 applications online." ?? Can you tell me from which page or link ? I see a link on USCIS website which say it's possible to apply online !!

For now, you can apply online. This post was back from March 2017 (like 4 months ago). I have applied online for my friend and the process is getting fast.
You might get error messages since USCIS limits the eligible applicants.

Rlam 57, Thank you for responding, but what you mean by they limited the eligible applicants ? You mean it's better to apply on paper ?

If you are applying under 5 year rule, you might be eligible. When you apply online, you will be asked this question very first place. 
There are many factors to affect your 'fastness' of your process. Mostly based on your Local Field Office. More applicants are applying online so I recommend you to apply online if you are eligible and to see how fast the progress. 

(My friend got NOA on the same day and the Biometric letter for the next day, FYI.)

For your online application, I believe your application will be sent directly to the Field Office, and for your paper application, your package will be accepted by the Lockbox first, and then transferred to your Local Office.

you can file online, I did it myself. Those who says you can't , don't know the whole story.

 

Wouldn't recommend efile, no faster processing for me .

Yes, use this link on the USCIS website (scroll up and hit the green 'Apply' button).

 

It will ask a series of questions to figure out whether you are eligible to apply online and then allow you to use the online application process if you qualify.

1. Does e-filing allow you to prepare the application on behalf of someone else?

 

2. Can you choose files/ upload additional evidence/documents if they are already saved on your computer or they must be scanned into the application?

 

3. Do they accept international credit cards to pay the fee?

Here are the answers for your questions based on my knowledge. Someone corrects me if I was wrong. 

1) Technically yes. You will be considered "Preparer" and you are required to print out the form, sign it, scan it and submit it. (hassle right, so in my case, I just filed for him, not on him behalf)

 

2) You can uploads your evidences if requested. So far, they haven't requested me to submit any scanned green card photos. However, I did submit a low quality copy of green cards since the card is not with me.

 

3) They accept major credit cards. You can try. I am not sure about this question but I believe cc with VISA or MASTER logo will be accepted.
