JohnW,

I do the same when calling Egypt. :)

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

well since i live here in New York, pretty much there are many many phone cards that give you about 1 hr caling time to the dominican republic, and they are only 2 dollars, Now i have over 100 of these aved, and since i was reading the guides i saw that it stated that it wil be good to show calling receipts or etc, but i used these ards because they are affordable and convenient, should i do something, send them, copy it send or what.... thanks

I also use phone cards to call Ukraine but just so I have a record on my phone bill I use my long distance service about once a month for a half hour.

john

My calling card (rechargeable, I have had the same PIN now for 4 months) provides me call history... so I get less expensive calling than my home tele and a call record history :)

YMMV

How can you get your call history? I have the same rechargeable calling card with the same pin for months and months now. I often call from work ( using my card) so no history about that :(

Because of this thread, I just realized that the phone card that I've used forever has a call history that I can get online.

So, thanks!!! Just one more way to prove the relationship.

It is a feature provided by the company... since we use different companies not all are the same... I am willing to pay a penny more a minute for that feature over the cards you are using....

i had no idea there was such a service.

i have never printed out our 'phone conversation" logs from my phone

only our daily chats and web camera chats, hopefully this will be enough.

reading through many people's experience, one thing the CO is most concerned about is the affidavit, i haven't heard anyone telling us that they asked for more pic, chat logs and etc.

i hope i am not in trouble.

I'm also from NY and have bought those cheap cards there and here in Florida.

I sent copies of a few of the used calling cards (some with pretty pictures of Mexico on them), a phone bill, proof that I have bought (AMEX statements) calling cards on-line, and of our www.dial55.com account (which has both of our names as the ID/PIN).

I'd say it's worth it to send a bit of everything - that's what we did.

NYGirl are you getting screenshot images of you two talking during your webcam chats, (windows side by side) and saving screenshot images of length of times talked on the messenger window and/or log files? An updated letter of intent to marry and the latest screenshot images will be taken to the Embassy or sent back with packet 3, unless packet 3 is needed to be handed in, in person. Proof of an on going relationship is most important at the interview, and if allowed it's best to be there with your hunny bunny.

NYGirl,

You cannot get a call history from a work phone. You have to use your mobile or home line. You need to submit the bill to illustrate call history.

On my calling card, the voice prompt says " You have 1 hr 9 mins " But, in reality I could only speak for about 48 minutes. They cheated me. I don't know if there any other company that gives me that long talk time with Cambodia.

Note: That was a 5 USD card.

Calling cards include about 10%-17% tax per call, plus there's usually a fee added (charged per week, some are charged per call).

I also have a stack of calling cards...but I've switched to pingo.com, also. So convenient, pretty decent rates, and lets me print out the call history. I love it!

Hello, the best thing to do is use a long distance phone company because the calling card are to exoensive and they take all your minute, I used to buy them but now I have this plan that I pay $100 a month and is unlimited long distance and local call, the name of the plan is zona franca, it is the best and shipper because calling card are to expensive, call them 1888 725 4321 supra telecom...

I have been using Nobelcom.com. You all may have a different opinion, but they have worked pretty well for me. They send me a receipt via email. I just dial a local access number. they have pinless dialing too. The rates are good and the options for different cards is large.

I'd love to find something better but that is it for now. We tried skype...but it cuts in and out...pain.

Yes, you need to be very careful about the fine print... they will post "teaser" rates of x.x cents per minute and then when you then read the fine print you find out that they add a 30% per call back charge, $0.69 connection charge and $0.75 weekly maintenance charge. So unless you use all the minutes on the card on one call you will never get the benefit of the stated "teaser" rate that you thought you were getting. It can add up to be much more expensive than you thought...

YMMV
