Hey All. 

I am a USC, My husband is  a New Zealand citizen applying for AOS, and we both live in California. His brother is getting married in New Zealand in 3 weeks, and we have an infopass appointment at the end of this week to try and get his advance parole expedited. I have read on many of these forums about people using brother's wedding or mother's wedding etc as their reason for 'emergency travel', but have also read (and assume) that it is near impossible, since it's not an 'emergency' accepted by USCIS. We're giving it a shot anyway, but I thought I might get some people's advice? Anyone tried to get their I-131 expedited for something similar or have any experience? Let us know please! Thanks!

Agree that it is not an emergency. But also agree that you can give it a try.

Same as above. I've seen others try and not have it approved (many times not even hearing back on a decision until around the time of normal AP processing).

10/14/17: Biometrics appointment notice received, 10/25/17: Biometrics

1/2/18: EAD + AP approved (no website update), 1/5/18: EAD + AP mailed, 1/8/18: EAD + AP approval notice hardcopies received, 1/10/18: EAD + AP received

9/5/18: Interview scheduled notice, 10/17/18: Interview

10/24/18: Green card produced notice, 10/25/18: Formal approval, 10/31/18: Green card received
