Does anyone have any experience or know if EP is really much quicker than manual processing for the NVC stage of an I-130?  I've read that your documents can be reviewed in 3-5 days but I really don't want to get my hopes up.  There is now an 11 week wait for manual processing.  I'm trying to come up with some kind of time-line of when I think I might be done with this whole thing.  It's proving very difficult since I'm now going into my 7 months of waiting just for my petition and haven't even reached the NVC stage yet.

Sending in documents to the NVC electronically is much, much faster than mailing it. My consulate didn't have the ability to send things electronically, and it took almost a month between my NOA2 and being able to send my documents. Here on visa journey, I have seen people have much shorter timelines at the NVC if they were able to send documents electronically. I can't say how much time it will save you, but if it helps at all, I saw someone from the same visa category as me, but from Australia, who had a PD about a week before ours and it went to TSC like mine. They already have their visa in hand and have had it for almost a month. My wife's interview isn't until April 27th.

I wish I had an exact timeline for you. but the NVC works at their own pace and it seems like their processing times are all over the place. I can assure you that EP is significantly faster than manual processing.

Thanks, that's what I'm hoping.  There aren't any other  recent Aussies from what I can see to find out how fast they got through.  But yes, the NVC is all over the place at the moment so who knows!

We were 5 weeks from NOA2 to CC when we went through  June 2016, and that included an RFE.  Then 3 weeks before the interview was scheduled and 6 weeks until the interview date.. the last steps depend on when you get CC... if you get it early in the month you end up waiting a few weeks until the scheduling cycle starts again... Sydney IR book about one month + out...  K1 are a bit quicker to get interviews.

I think NVC is slower now... they are telling everyone 11 weeks instead of 6, and you really cant do anything more to influence them...

Thanks, that's good to know.  NVC is definitely 11 weeks now but I'm hoping with EP that means I'll be done faster.  I'll just be crossing all my fingers and toes that I won't get a checklist which will put me back to the beginning again.  When I eventually get my petition approved!
