Don't be hard on OP. The immigration process is very complicated, immigrants also have different background and perception, expectations about American life, even living here for a foreigner the 1st year is not easy, many local law and situations you need to know. It's good the OP is asking and if we can help, it's good too

I'm sorry I do have to agree with @p-ana, maybe it sounded a little harsh but in the future, be sure to thoroughly read everything that involves a legal process beforehand. Especially one as important, expensive and time consuming as this one. That's the big reason why my then fiancee and I decided to get married and try the CR1 instead of a K1. Sure it takes longer, but it's less of a hassle once you arrive in the U.S and I knew I wouldn't be able to survive three months without working or the possibility of leaving the country in case of an emergency. Of course I want to be with the love of my life sooner rather than later, but I had to think of all of these factors as well, and not let emotions cloud my decision. Good luck on your journey! I hope you get to work soon. !

Im not being hard, just realistic. I'm apalled that people can make such a life changing decision without properly reading, weigh pros and cons, etc. the immigration process is in no way complicated, the rules are very clear, you just have to go after info, read, etc.

What in the hell is the point of this forum if people are already supposed to be immigration experts? Lay off the OP who asked a very sensible and normal question. Or alternatively, I'd love to hire you as my immigration lawyer!
