Rubio was also an establishment cuck. Voters saw right through his act. Right or not, the GOP electorate wanted Obamacare dumped.. replacement or otherwise.

Obviously Republicans in Congress would find themselves with a lot more support if they'd at least get that "repeal" part down asap. Of course, this "replacement" facade reeks of cronyism, like waiting for a handout from the insurance industry before writing their bill.

I didn't vote for Trump in 2016 (voted Gary Johnson) but if he can actually pull off getting rid of Obamacare, along with fulfilling a few more promises (such as getting rid of DACA), he could get my 2020 vote. More of this, though, and I'll be looking third party yet again.

What I think people should also be focusing on is that Republicans have already passed a bill to dump Obamacare.. it was vetoed by Obama.

Restoring Americans’ Healthcare Freedom Reconciliation Act of 2015

Why not just do this again?

You voted libertarian but you want Trump to get rid of DACA? Excuse me for being a little puzzled. Anyway, for now I'm not buying that they won't try again with the replacement, but I think they want to try the tax thing first and then get back to healthcare depending on how well that goes.

Ryan went through all the trouble of holding up a copy of the AHCA draft and saying some words. Give the man some credit.. that's almost as much effort as I put into this post.

and trump has been putting his thinking cap on every time he goes to the southern (no longer winter) white house to play golf. just waiting for that forehead tan line to erupt..

I'm not a libertarian, and I'm not registered to any party (registered in Cali as DTS which is synonymous with no party affiliation), but his philosophies I found most agreed with myself, and the fact that I thoroughly believed he would honestly apply his philosophies given his prior history as governor. I'd vote for someone who in politics is diametrically opposed to my views as long as I thought they were at least honest. Also, I'd be pretty skeptical of one's ability to think for themselves if they ever found a politician who literally agreed with every position they held. I've only been voting since I turned 18 in 2000, but even so, I've yet to find a single one.

Edit: So the things Gary and I likely disagreed on:

- He's for open borders, I'm not.. I thoroughly believe in the US as a nation of laws and customs that are to be followed

- He's for FTA's, I'm not - I depise globalism and view is as an oligarch-led usurper of a country's sovereignty

- He did not like the idea of universal healthcare.. having experience it in Canada, I am very much open to the idea (which for me ties into fiscal conservatism), but ppl suggesting it needs to come to the US overlook it's lack of feasibility

Main things he and I agreed on:

- Pro-rights (pro gay marriage, pro legalizing weed, pro choice)

- Fiscal conservative

- Worked tremendously to fulfill his promises (this I've admired of Trump thus far)

- Pissed off the Republican establishment (Trump does this too, I find this one priceless)

I can't think of any party or candidate that agrees 100% with me, can you?

For me it's more like a 2% margin on each end of the center line lol

We all know the answer to that, but what is generally left out is why they didn't vote for it. Many of the same reasons the Freedom Caucus didn't vote for T-Care. Spooky you have actually made my point for  me which is, it's more important for Dems to play partisan politics than to actually represent the American people's interests. Dems would rather march in Nazi style lockstep than work across the isle to benefit the American people.

I actually do agree with you about this bill being rushed and not good legislation, but then it's really just O-care light and that is the problem.

Right, and this bill shows how much Trump cares about the people. What happened to the wonderful replacement for the ACA that he sold you on hook, line and sinker when he was on the campaign trail?

Too late he's not the President anymore. Thank the Lord.

Actually, I think if you changed absolutely nothing in the ACA and just renamed it the Dems would still vote against it calling it the worst thought out piece of legislation that was ever pushed onto the American people. And then blame it on Trump because it came under his watch.

Trump job is to fix all the things he claimed are wrong with the country. Unfortunately he really doesn't have the support of his own party.

I am not sure, but I believe while you were out we established that there never was a replacement plan. Things were said, feelings were hurt, posts were deleted.

Who are all these Trump babies on this thread? I seem to have missed them.

I was speaking more of the elected Dems in Congress and figuratively not literally.
