Tough talk is easy when there are no consequences. When those in power need to make real change that impacts real lives ( and voters) their perspective changes. Now that the Republican s control the making of laws, they don't have the stomach. 

 

The truth is making bumper stickers is cheap and easy. Making laws that benefit everyone is long,  painful, requires compromise and acceptance of the less than perfect. In the long run it produces better results.

 

Trump is a bumper sticker. You get what you pay for.

My premium before Obamacare was going up $50 every year. My last premium before switching to Obama care was $450. I am self employed.
Then it was $99 with Obamacare, helped me a lot and it was a very decent insurance plan. Am now on hubby's plan. I personally experienced
only the positive with Obamacare but understand that not everyone did. It can be improved no doubt but it should not be repealed.
And no, democrats will not run to Trump to 'make a deal' to fix Obamacare and no it will not explode unless purposely manipulated for worse.
The 'closer', the 'deal maker' failed, plain and simple.

Trump's slogan : I alone can fix it did not fix it and his Art of Repeal was a fail. Not surprised but expected.
The Real Estate business and governing are not the same thing. Duh.

I assume that was not the risk premium impact but a subsidy, the problem is the gross cost.

I don't see how a repeal without a replacement would help anybody. You would end up with more uninsured, those with pre existing conditions will go back to the hell they experienced before, and ultimately it will be the GOP that will get blamed for it. I also don't agree with anyone saying that if you just let Obamacare implode, it will go against the democrats and not the GOP. You don't need a masters in psychology to understand that people will still blame the GOP, for not having put something better in place when they had the chance. So it's a lose-lose for everybody. The ACA was done very badly, and I have long said I will support replacing it with a better plan, but I also always emphasized I will judge that plan when and if it is available. And once this plan came out, I did not think it was a good replacement. What they need to do is keep trying, not give up and go "oh well now we'll just let the ACA fail so that everybody sees what a bad plan it was and blames the democrats". No, everybody will see what a bad plan it was and how you missed your shot to change it. It's kind of like them saying they will pay for the tax cuts with the amazing growth that's supposedly becoming. I just roll my eyes at that one as the growth they speak of will not come, and all it takes is knowing simple arithmetic to realize that. They seriously need to start getting their stuff together.

The Donald was very, very, very clear. He had a replacement plan. Really the very best, hugely goodest, so so very good plan. The people would love it. Cheaper premiums. Better access to care. Awesome. Fantastic. Historically it would go down as the greatest thing anyone has ever seen.

 

Not surprisingly the so called president never had any such plan. It usually takes a bad President a few years to show themselves as such. Not seeing so much winning, except at losing, guess that's just another broken promise from the carnival huckster in chief.
