We finally got married (after trying for 2 years, that's another story) and sent in CR1 papers in December 2015. Today my senator's office called NVC, as they were to have had our papers finished today. They were told the waiting is now at 11 weeks. This is just unbelievable that papers can just be put off on and on. AND we haven't even gotten to the interview, much less AP. After knowing each other more than 6 years and being an older couple, we feel that we won't have much time to be together by the time immigration finishes for us. The people that do this process legally are getting the ####### end of the stick. Resources are stretched too thin...

Thanks for listening!

Thanks for listening!

You could always move to your spouse and enjoy the time together while waiting for the visa.

Can they tell you what is holding up the process? Background checks?

I can't retire. I'm a teacher and need the income and insurance. We have spent a fortune traveling, etc. to be together. We had a delay when they wanted a second divorce paper from Pakistan. We had already sent in the official computerized one, but they wanted another type. The aggravating thing is that a couple we know used the computerized one, and they were never questioned. This was a paper that was supposed to take 90 days, took 4 months. They said every time you have to submit the RFE, the time starts over.

It's horrible. I'm sure he will also get a long AP like everybody else.
