hi everyone,

I hope no one else is going through the same issue as I am here.

migrated to the US in late 90s through parents sponsor.

Currently a green card holder since 2004,

I Sent in my N400 on september 9th 2015,

Got biomatrics in september 27th 2015,

Now no updates or anything till august 2016

after booking in couple infopass, I got the letter for interview in November 2016 to be interviewed in December 2016.

Interview went good, I passed my civic and English test. At the end IO hands me "Decision can not be made" Due to child-support.

I got letter the following week stating the USCIS is requesting some documents about me providing the child support and what not.

I got the affidavit from mother of my kids that everything is good and that I've been taking care of all financial related issues.

I sent in the FER a week before the due date, which was the January 17th 2017.

Till now there hasnnt been any movement on my online status or anything.

I spoke to 2nd level customer service which I believe are IO's, i was informed that on feb 16 the IO recommended my file for the approval and that should be put in the oath line.

After about a month, no update no letter, I called and spoke to another IO. At that time I was told by the officer that she "The IO" doesn't know who;s telling me that my file is recommended for approval or what not. At this time all I can tell you is that the file is sitting on an supervisors desk for a supervisors review. Once he/she is done reviewing your application that's when they will let you know the decision.

Now i'm super confused.

I have no arrest or anything, no records of what so ever.

Please if anyone has gone through the same issue, share your view so I can be a bit ease. I'm looking to book an infopass by the end of the month as it will be 120 days to the interview.

It's been over 18 months, my n400 is still pending.

Shoot man that's a long wait. Clearly your case first got stuck at background checks; that's why it took such a long while to get that interview. Beyond the interview and RFE, you got it right; they have 120 days from the date of interview to give you a decision. Unfortunately they wouldn't care how long you waited before the interview to make a quicker decision.

If it is sitting on someone's desk, we think this decision process is a complicated matter that takes time but probably the officer just forgot about it under a pile of other folders. Right now all you can do is to wait and once you reach that 120 days; make an infopass and try to specifically speak to the supervisor who is handling your case. That would be the fastest way to remind to reach that person. After all if the whole thing came down to child support issue; they should be able to reach a decision quickly with the evidence you provided. Good luck and I hope you get the approval you've been waiting for a long while.

Same here.. Went to my N-400 interview in August 2016 and decision is still pending.. no criminal records or nothing. Wife and I applied for divorce during some tough times right after I filed for my I751 but we made amendments and never went forward with the divorce and thankfully we're still doing just fine. They called us in for a "2nd interview" at the time and questioned us about the filing for divorce. we explained and they approved my I751 and now Im stuck since last August waiting for a decision on my citizenship that "couldn't be reach at the time" I submitted the case inquiry this month after almost 210 days of my interview and still waiting. Guess we gotta hang in there man. best of luck!

So I got my oath letter today. 20 long months. It's getting to an end.

Between my interview and oath I have travelled to Canada. Should I state that I have travelled out side since my interview?.

Will there be any issues since I have travelled out of States?.

Congrats!! Yes you need to disclose all your trip since your interview at the oath. Back of the oath letter, there is a questionnaire asking for these types on information that you need to fill out before the oath.
