HI! I have filed an i-765 last nov.1,2016 and got my ead card the first week of february 2017.  The expiration printed on my ead card is july 1, 2017 same date with my passport and i94 expiration dates. I already renewed my passport on february 18, 2017 and the Philippine consular said that it will be mailed to me by May, they also got my old passport.  My questions are ...1. Am i going to renew again my ead card for only few months using it? A 90 day period, since it will be expired on july 1 is not possible since the required passport will be given on May.  2.  Am i going to pay $380 fee again in just few months? It is really a big amount since I just started working March 17 fulltime in a minimum pay.  Please help and really need your advise on this matter. Thank you!

Why does your EAD expire so soon? You only just got it...It should be until next year in February.

EDIT: Oh, you probably put the wrong eligibility code. I'm not sure this means you'll have to pay the fee, but I'd think so. I'll let someone else answer.

That's why i really don't know the procedure since I just came here last September 14, 2016.  I applied for a job October last year and rejected by USCIS when I was about to file for an I9. Therefore I applied for my i765 only November 1, 2016, in short the company I applied for did not hire me anymore.  And when I got my ead card and look for the expiration date, i was really disappointed because it will last only for few months.  Now that I have found my job just this March 17, 2017, meaning I will have to save money again from my salary only for paying for my ead card's renewal supposed to be on April since it says that I have to renew again 90-100 days before your ead card will expire.

I know, I'm sorry...Sadly that's not on USCIS to correct, it's on you. So you may sadly have to pay that fee, or be hopeful you'll get your GC before then.
