RFE response

Hi there, 

 

I'm sure that there are people with the same experience as my friend. She has been here before, but this time she went nuts and is travelling all over the country. She came on a B-2 visa and had requested to extend her status. Long story short, she got an RFE - she replied to it by a first-class mail (do not ask me why) - I told her it was not the best idea. Her RFE response is due on 3/29, by her calculations the letter should have been delivered this Monday, however, when she tracks the status of her case - it is still under RFE request sent out. 

 

Does anyone have any experience submitting RFE, how long does it take USCIS to update status to RFE response received and any other ideas? Should she send another letter? She is within the CSC (WAC).

Without a means to track the RFE response, there is no way of telling if they received it. The case status on the USCIS website is very unreliable.

 

She can send another letter with tracking capabilities or simply wait out the I-539 decision letter and follow the instructions she is given.

why would she spend a dollar-two more not to stress herself?

Maybe she's running short on cash with all the traveling she's been doing. Six months is an awful long time to be out of work traveling all over the US.
