Honestly you want to have job security as long as possible.

If it's possible for her to stay at the job she's currently at, it's HEAVILY recommended that she stays at that job.

With that said, they would prefer her to have her current job for 6 months or more. Some people have been able to have a job for less time, but also make SIGNIFICANT amounts of money and are usually bound by contract (making quitting/losing the job less likely).

If possible and not urgent, I would highly recommend she keeps her current job until you're finally in the USA, especially if she hasn't already secured the new job position and signed a contract.

The more stable her financial situation is, the better. Maybe that's why it's recommended to show proof of income, tax returns and transcripts from the last 3 years preceding a petition.

Here here, SaRy. Stability of income is important. But,, in the end past tax returns will have the most weight. If changing employment means heigher income, and you have to explain it. If it  comes up just have evidence to prove it.  Showing a continued effort to increase/improve one's self financially would in the end be a good thing.

Are you sure past tax returns hold the most weight? I would think that having a current (within the last 6 months) stable income over 125% of the poverty line would be most important, at least at the interview stage, not sure about AOS. I think you do have a point about how it can be beneficial to change jobs to obtain a higher income, which would also be quite easy to prove. I hope the 3 year tax return requirement isn't too heavily looked at because in my case I've had a full time job for the past year and a half, so my 2016 transcript is fine, but I was a broke university student in 2015 and 2014, so I definitely did not meet the income requirement for those years. :P

Anyway Mehdi-T, if your fiancee already has a job lined up, I don't think the change in jobs will be a problem as long as she still meets the income requirement or has a cosponsor if needed. Changing jobs often, especially in the USA, is quite normal as many jobs don't have strict contracts and changing jobs can be a good way to boost your income. :)

I see what you're trying to say, and I was actually talking about a situation where she was merely considering changing jobs.

And as RJandHamid said, if she already has a job lined up, with a higher salary than her previous one, then it would actually be very beneficial to their petition.
