Hello there,

My wife is planning for filling my I-130 and we were reading all the possible things that can be considered a "red flag". I read somewhere if the women is older than the man it is considered a "red flag". My wife is 3 years older than me, and I was wondering if this is considered a "red flag". Because we would like to address any red flags before it arises.

Thank You

My previous CR1 I was 5 years older than my ex husband :) and we didn't receive an RFE and it wasn't a red flag to them, I think 3 years is simply not much of a difference, more than 10 might be a different story. Also if your relationship is bona fide and have enough documentation you shouldn't have any issues. Good luck!

When people on this board refer to age gaps, they're often referring to 30-40 years in age difference.  It often comes at the same time with couples that have had little face-to-face time.  Coming from Canada a 3 year gap won't even raise an eyebrow.

Age gap is important in the cultural context of the relationship. Is it common? Accepted? Suspicious?

3 year age gap with a Canadian spouse is not culturally significant.
