I am posting this on behalf of the beneficiary

"My dad petitioned for me (filed I-130). All the process was completed, paid all the fees/submitted documents etc. Also got the interview call. A week before the interview my dad who had petitioned for me passed away due to which we were denied visa. Someone at the US embassy told us that we could file for substitute petition. So we decided to transfer the petition under my mom's name. We submitted all the documents to do that few days after the interview. A few months later we received a letter saying that the case is a humanitarian case and they didn't mention any time frame. The letter was under my mom's name, but we dont know if the substitute petition has been approved or not because when I call USCIS they say it is still under my dad's name. Whenever I call them or check status online they say that they are reviewing the case. Am I supposed to receive a new receipt number or priority date? I'm not sure if the case is under my mom's name now. When I call them they say that they can't see my mom's name in the system but the last letter my mom received was under her name. My mom Is a US citizen and I am 50. Is it still possible for me to move to the US ? I read a few similar cases and I wanted to know if someone was successful in moving to the US after the death of the petitioner.  Please explain the process" Please answer I appreciate your time.
