K1 case status after receiving the NO1

Hello guys, 

We filed our K1 petition and we received the NO1 on the 12th of January 2017. Now when we check the Case status online it Says "Case Was Received". Is it normal or the status should change by this time ?

Very normal, you are still within normal processing times. They are working on late November and early/mid December cases now.

To add, if you submitted a G-1145 to receive email/text notifications, you won't receive a text/email if your petition is approved (NOA2).

 

I didn't receive an email or text when my petition was approved.  I checked the USCIS website to find out that our petition was approved.

 
Confirming with other VJ members and reading the fine print of the G-1145, you will only receive email/text notification when your petition is received/accepted (NOA1).

Sometimes you will, they're very inconsistent about it.
