My wife was given a 221 g today in Manila. The CO asked for some additional documents. All of the additional proofs I understand but one; that is the proof of life together. According to my wife there was a red flag that my wife and I established no joint property, bank accounts etc while I  was in the Philippines for over a year with her. We didn't do anything because we both thought that would show me with ties to the Philippines with no intent to reestablish domicile. Now here we are if we try to establish something now I am afraid they will view it as last minute stunt trying to avoid a fraud charge. I feel like I am in a hard place either way. Please help with your insights and thoughts  .

Do you have anything financial together?  Like joint bills, or that she is the beneficiary on your life insurance or you are listed as next-of-kin at her work etc?

Also what proof of a bonafide marriage did you provide already?

Hi penguin thanks for your response. We presented pictures, western union receipts, travel to Thailand together proof. We have no current joint bills but would be willing to undertake them if we can figure out how being that I am now back in the US. Life Insurance is something I can do but I don't have a policy now.

Any recent documents will not help. They want older ones.

Hi Nancy. Thanks for your response. I was afraid of that. Is there anything that I can do ?

I believe you can only provide whatever you can. On blue sheet, they say that if you can't provide anything, explain on a signed statement. That's your best bet. Good luck.

Thanks Nancy. How would I search VJ for other members who might've encountered the same roadblock. I feel that you are correct a signed statement is our best bet. I'm just curious as to whether or not that would be effective

To Whom It May Concern:

I am the legal spouse of . Our CR1 case number is . My wife was asked at the interview for proof of a shared life together. The officer asked my wife for a joint bank account or joint debts such as house and lot. I returned to the US on February 8 of 2017. At that time, we had no joint house and lot or any other significant debt in the Philippines. We also did not establish a joint bank account because we were afraid that it would be misinterpreted as us trying to establish ties outside the US and thus damage our case as it relates to stable domicile   My US bank card worked while I was there and since my departure we have used Western Union to allow me to send financial support to my wife.  Throughout our time together in Silay our focus was on maintaining my US domicile and preparing for a life in the US which to my understanding is the purpose of the CR1 spousal visa; to unite families on US soil. I have, however, taken steps to strengthen our ties and demonstrate a marriage in good faith. Enclosed you will find a recent life insurance policy and Last Will and Testament both naming my wife as sole beneficiary. Should any further evidence be helpful in your adjudication of this matter please let me know. I was thinking to turn this into an affidavit and sending it to the Embassy explaining our lack of shared life evidence. CO hats on everyone. I realize there are no guarantees but I would love for some of you guys to tell me what you think
