That is where you're wrong. Zionism has nothing to do with superiority. The majority of Jews, are in fact zionists if you go by the actual definition and not the made up one.

The made up definition or the one you guys like to attribute to zionism is that it's some evil movement seeking to take over all of the land that Jews used to reside in, including where you have millions of Palestinians now, out of feeling of superiority. That it's a colonialist, racist and exceptionalist ideology. That has absolutely nothing at all to do with zionism actually. Zionism is a movement that started in an attempt to support Jews moving back to their historic homeland. The reason the movement started in the late 19th century in Europe was in response to anti semitism, so their goal was to create a desired state in Palestine which was then part of the Ottoman Empire, in order to liberate Jews from the anti semitic discrimination and persecution that they experienced. 

 

The term zionism is derived from the word zion, referring to Jerusalem.You also don't have to be Jewish to be a zionist, there are even muslim zionists. It is a political goal of creating a Jewish state in order to create a nation where Jews could be the majority, rather than the minority which they were in a variety of nations in the diaspora. Theodor Herzl considered Antisemitism to be an eternal feature of all societies in which Jews lived as minorities, and that only a separation could allow Jews to escape eternal persecution.

The Land of Israel was the birthplace of the Jewish people. Here their spiritual, religious and political identity was shaped. Here they first attained to statehood, created cultural values of national and universal significance and gave to the world the eternal Book of Books.

there are christian zionists too, just as 'evil' as the jewish sort..

another thing i know, the drive for a jewish state originates from what nb said just a few posts ago..jews are god's chosen people. no amount of spin or political gibberish changes this premise, which reeks of superiority. for someone like me who sees god as a imaginary friend, i don't see how i could consider zionists 'evil'. evil like how beyonce is evil for being illuminati? hence the eye roll. so many people dying over the idea that one sort of human is above another. so dumb. if jews need their own state, so do all the other marginalized groups. or is it more about god saying jews should be set a part and not so much about earthly 'political goals'??? yeah, that's what i think.

Again, you are making your own assumptions and making up your own definitions, but it's not what the movement has ever been about at all. "All other marginalized groups"? We're not talking about marginalized groups here, I think you probably aren't aware of Jewish history dating back centuries and the persecution they endured. The movement was created in an attempt to seek a homeland for Jews(btw, they didn't even insist on Palestine, Argentina and Uganda and some others were options as well, so blame the superpowers for agreeing to settle them in Palestine) after centuries of persecution in order to save them and have them be able to run their own lives. It is entirely political, not religious, and has nothing to do with superiority. Again, if you don't think Israel should exist blame the superpowers. If you think other marginalized groups should have their own state, talk to them about that as well. That all has nothing to do with Jews who were the victims for centuries. Moreover, most of these other marginalized groups never had their own ancestral homeland to speak of, whereas Jews did. In fact Jews never completely abandoned that land no matter how much they were being driven away. This has nothing to do with the bible or being Gods chosen people. I don't buy most of what's in the bible, neither do many zionists. Archeological evidence however, a bit more difficult to dispute. Basically, anybody who supports the right of Israel to exist can be considered a zionist, it doesn't matter it you're Jewish, Christian, Muslim, Buddhist, etc...if you walked down the street and asked someone if they thought Israel should exist and they said yes, is that because they feel Jews are superior?
