Next Steps?

Hi guys, I'm a February 2017 filer and I'm done with biometrics and all. When I filed, I got the NOA 1 and letter for biometrics appointment pretty fast but now after the biometrics - all got silent. I checked at the USCIS website and my case status doesn't get updated. I know they're probably loaded with cases and probably back logged but how long is too long for us to be waiting on an update? Any recommendations? Thanks in advance!

Did you try the receipt number from Bio-Metrics appointment letter? It should say "Your Case was Received"......

They very, very seldom use the status to notify you of anything.  About 99% of the time any movement in your case you will be notified by mail.   Why they have this Check My Status option is a waste of time, they very seldom utilize it.  But, in our case the only update during the I-751 process utilizing the My Case Status, was The Card is being processed.

 

so you have to be patient and wait for updates by mail.   After your Biometrics it will take 3-6 months or maybe longer, unless you get an RFE and that can take months also

Did you file with CSC or VSC? CSC is currently processing cases filed in May 2016, VSC is processing cases filed in February 2016.

If all goes smoothly you probably have another 8-9 months of silence before they issue your 10-year green card.

If you filed with CSC you are looking close to a year wait and if you filed with VSC you are looking at a little over a year wait.  We unfortunately are with VSC.  Just another waiting game.

You may never get your case status updated, mine hasnt been since sept 2015, when i filed for ROC initially.
