K1 Visa: Wedding date relative to 6 month limit of visa

I know that the K-1 visa lasts for 6 months, and you have 90 days to get married once the beneficiary arrives. Let me give a scenario to illustrate my question.

1. Suppose you get approval of K1 Visa on January 1; thus it expires on June 30

2. If the beneficiary arrived on June 29, would they still have 90 days to get married? Or would June 30 be an absolute "drop dead" date for the wedding to happen?

 

Not that we are intending to push it that closely. But, it will be helpful for planning to know the "outside parameter" on this.

Just to add the K1 expires 6 months from medical not approval date..

you need to be married within 90 days of her being in the USA. for example entry date 3/20/17, we got married at the county court with the marriage certificate, that fulfilled the requirement of us being married. You can have a wedding date set for a later time.

Dee elle: thank you for your reply. But - and this is my main question - according to your reply, then, the wedding can be AFTER the expiration of the K-1?
