Generally speaking, yes - whatever you can use by that time. For ROC there's usually more time to gather evidence.

We don't have much right now since most of the insurances want to see my driver's license or Georgia ID but I cannot get that without my EAD.

Our leasing office was able to put me on the leasing contract but with my maiden name. They said they either need a Georgia ID or driver's license in order to change my maiden name to my new last name(they needed my passport as my ID).

The only real thing we have are RSVP envelopes with both our names and the address on. We might have some hotel receipts but that's it. Like I said, it's not much what we have.

I'm not on any of the utility bills, but our joint bank account clearly shows us both paying our halves. I'm also on every one of our lease agreements since I moved here. There are things you can and can't submit, everyone is different. You won't be deported just because your name doesn't show up on utility bills. You just have to paint a pretty clear picture that you live together as husband and wife with whatever means necessary. Wills and powers of attorney documents are good ones too and are very easy to create in some states.

ROC from CR-1 visa (Green Card expiration date was Nov 24th 2016)

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

March 14th 2018: Submitted service request due to being outside of processing time.

March 15th 2018: ROC approved. 535 days (1 year, 5 months and 17 days)

March 29th 2018: Card being produced

April 4th 2018: Card mailed out

April 6th 2018: Card in hand. Has incorrect "resident since" date. Submitted service request on I-751 case (typographical error on permanent resident card) and an I-90 online.

April 2018 - August 7th 2018: Tons of service requests, emails and now senator involvement to get my corrected green card back because what the heck, USCIS. Also some time in May I sent a letter to Potomac telling them I want to withdraw my I-90 since CSC were handling it.

August 8th 2018: Card in production thanks to the direct involvement of Senator Sherrod Brown's team

August 13th 2018: Card mailed

August 15th 2018: Card in hand with correct date. :joy:

October 31st 2018: Potomac sends out a notice stating they have closed out my I-90 per my request. Yay for no duplicate card drama.

Hello community,

I have a question regarding proof of living together as husband and wife.

My husband wanted to add me on his electricity and gas bill but apparently only his name will be shown on the bills, not both of our names.

If USCIS should request proof when I have my Removal of Conditions, how can I proof that he added me but that my name won't be on the bills. Should I print out the email?

I feel a little bit lost...

Same with our case. My name wasn't in our electric/gas bills although I had already been added.

Anyways, here are other statements where my name was added without any issues:

- water billing statement

- mobile billing statement

- internet billing statement

Additionally, my bank statements are updated to our residence address.

Previous U.S. Visa/Trips

03-24-2015 : B1/B2 issued date

03-30-2016 : He proposed before I left U.S.
04-01-2016 : I left U.S. I wish I had enough days to marry him.
But, I have a very important business meeting to physically attend in Cebu on 04/04. I also have a business trip due in Japan for May 2016.
Circumstances lead me to K-1.

I added my husband to  3 credit cards, and he has cards in his name,  took out life insurance on both of us, making each other the beneficiary.

Also added him to the flat lease, took $50 to do it, but worth it. He is listed on my auto insurance.

We have a joint checking and savings account, and added to the electric bill, AT&T bill, we also did Wills .

We  have a furniture account joint, and kept receipts for the purchases we made.

4 years of joint income tax filings,  and a letters from 3 good friends concerning our marriage.

LIke I said, he cannot add me to his bank and credit card account because the bank wants to see either my Green Card or state ID.

I am an authorized user on some of his utility bills but they won't show my name on the actual bills. And there's nothing that the gas and electricity company can do about it. I might print out the emails where they said that they added me as an authorized user.

The leasing office wants to see my state ID or driver's license before they can change my maiden name to my new last name.

I don't have these yet because I am still waiting on my EAD (so that I can get my driver's license) and as of right now I won't get it in the mail until June or July.

We both have two different phone contracts. Technically, I have a prepaid card because T-Mobile wants to see my Green Card or driver's license in order for me to have a contract with them.

So most of the companies and the bank can't do anyting unti I have my Gerogia driver's license or at least my EAD.

It's not that easy to show that we live together. I fact, I have the feeling with what we have right now it won't be enough proof. :(

You may be mistaken about the refusal of having both names on the utility bill. Utilities usually require both names because of legal liability, payment guarantee, death/divorce/abandonment, etc. I have never heard of a utility that refused to put both names on a bill. Logically, they would want both names. And for billing purposes, not a problem. I think you need to check into this.

Not so rare. Our utilities are in my husband's name only.

Our gas bill, light bill, tv/internet bill would only allow us to use one name only on the account. We requested several times for both names to be added and they refused. Only one that we could do jointly was our water

We will go to Bank of America soon and open a new bank and credit card account in both of our names.

What documents do I need? I don't have a state ID or driver's license yet.

We have some hotel bookings and wedding invitations/ RSVP envelopes with both our names on and some. But that's it if it should come to my AOS interview. And if course pictures of our wedding in May.

Do you have pictures of the two of you with family & friends?

Really, though, give it time. Let the EAD come through then get what you need in terms of paperwork. No need to start worrying about a potential AOS interview that may even not happen at all. :)

I still have pictures with him and my parents and with him and my brother. We used the pictures as proof for my K1 visa.

But we don't have any new pictures with his family right now. We missed it to take pictures together when his parents were here in February. We'll be visiting his sister in a couple of weeks and take some pictures then. Plus we have the marriage coming up in May.
