We filed for adjustment of status for my mother. She entered the country on a tourist visa. And no, we didn't have any intentions to apply for a green card before she came to the U.S. We had her tickets booked round trip before she came and changed her flight back a couple months later until we decided to apply for AOS.

I recently had a baby and my mom was going to come to visit for a month to visit with her grandchild. However, with my new job training, we had a problem with original plan of who would be watching the baby.

She came last June and we filed for AOS in October.

I am asking for advice of how we can prove our intention to immigration officer. Would our records showing her flights multiple times be sufficient to prove to immigration officer our intention? Any helpful comments are welcomed.

Thanks guys.

Intentions are hard to prove but a good rule to start with is the 60 days rule. Do not file for AoS until it has been 60 days from your mom's entry to the US

Second, keep any letters or emails where she is informing people of her change of plans, that might help if people seem surprised

Also, financial obligations and ties that she has to break now while being away could be used as prove - lease, car ownership, work, bills or anything else that she got stuck paying because of the change of plan

Another thing, document your need of help, the changes you are talking about that made you need her to take care of the baby.

That's all I can think about
