Hello all! I have some questions

 

my parents want to buy my husband who came into the states with a k-1 visa a car. They want for me to be the co signer and he the primary. Nonetheless, we only put in the AOS application on 2/14/2017. Will they ask for his resident card?

are you talking about a car loan? if so if i remember correctly you need proof of income, your ssn, insurance and proof of residence. Proof of residence can be a mortgage or bank statement or a official letter with the name and address on it.

They will have to sign for it, or you can sign for it.

 

If he just put in the AOS the other day, obviously he has not yet established some credit. No car dealer worth their weight in soil will even discuss financing with him.

 

If your parents are truly buying him a car, let them sign for it, then add him as a driver.

So he will need a co signer ? Or have the car under someone else name ?

I see from your signature that he already has a DL, SSN, and that biometrics are already done. The EAD should be in hand in a couple weeks at most. Wait for that, then go for the car. If there is financing involved, someone else will have to be the primary buyer.

 

If no financing is involved, then he doesn't need anyone, just the money, since he has a DL and SSN. The car can be registered as you all desire.
