Police Clearance from another country

Depends on the country I suppose. Like Malaysia, you'll just need to apply online on the Foreign Ministry's consular website and then attach the necessary payment  together when sending a self addressed envelope. So I'll suggest you refer to the respective countries' foreign ministry's website first.

For my I-129F, K-1, AOS, EAD, AP and ROC detailed timelines, please refer to my timeline page :)

ROC filed on December 1, 2020, assigned to SRC, approved within 106 days on February 18, 2021.

My sincerest gratitude to all VJers, especially the late geowrian.

Thank you for your response. The country for the police clearance will be from Kuwait.

Had to get 3 myself for my greencard. Go to this link below, use the dropdown box halfway down to choose your country. When the page loads with the various tabs, click on police certificates. It should show instructions (it did for all 3 of mine)

Thank you so much for sending me the link. I looked at the instructions for Kuwait and this is what I got:

  • Registration Criteria: Available only to applicants residing in Kuwait.  A police clearance certificate is required for U.S. immigrant visa applicants age 18 and over who is currently residing in Kuwait for 6 months or more, Not available for former residents of Kuwait.

So what does this mean now? I don't need one for Kuwait, or I can't get my visa because I no longer live there??? :-/

Hmm that is confusing. My advice would be to copy and paste that section into an email to your local consulate and ask them the question as they will ultimately decide your case.  Keep a copy of that page and your email and response in case NVC give a checklist for it.

My fiance consulted an immigration lawyer back in the US. She informed us that if I no longer live in Kuwait, then I don't need a police clearance from there, as the recepient needs to be residing there to obtain a police clearance. So according to the lawyer we should be okay. Can someone who has been in this similar situation confirm though?/

Why then have a Kuwaiti flag on your profile?
