Hi guys,

A quick heads up for you. When browsing a thread on my iPhone using Chrome or Safari I get ads served from your ad network that produce an inescapable notification prompting me to download a new update for my phone. The domain it attempts to hit is playaed.com.

It it makes the site unusable and is obviously dangerous to your users.

If anyone sees this again let me know.  We added an ad partner in the last few days.  If they are sending poor ads I'll drop them.

FYI several of the ads also force you off the site with no way to get back (again, only mobile. Desktop works fine), or put you into an infinite loop of garbage.

Having to use an ad blocker on mobile now as the ads served by this provider actually make the site impossible to navigate and use. Let me know if you drop them and I'll turn it off as I do like supporting these forums, but if I cannot use them there is not much point!

I got it yesterday too, using Chrome on my laptop.

Had to force a reboot to get rid.

I am also now getting a CONNECTION IS NOT SECURE warning that I didn't used to get.  I guess I can't login in any more...too bad.

That's just Google Chrome.  They started flagging any website that doesn't use https.  The connection is secure -- just not encrypted.  Nothing has changed on VJ for years on this.  We will be adding https in the net month or so as an FYI.

Only thing is I am not using Chrome.  I am using Firefox and I did not get this warning a few weeks back.  This is something new with Firefox?

Can you post a picture of the full error?
