Hello!

I know this thread is pretty old but I got a question. Me and my wife got married spontaneously during my visit and we live in south texas 30mins away from the Mexican border.

I had my medical done around November and when the doctor asked me if I have ever used weed I said yes I have but I do not do it anymore cause I didn't like it at all (I did it about 1-2weeks before the medical..which I regret big time!!!!). After that she wrote something down and just continued with her other questions.

Do they do a drug test on my blood and urine that I had to give them?

She didn't mention anything about a drug test. She also did not send me to a psychiatrist. And when I went to pick up my medical 3 days after they told me that everything came out good.

Right now me and my wife are freaking out cause we read about the whole 1 year ban thing yesterday even if you did it a long time ago.

We have our interview on April 4th. Do we have something to be concerned about? And if I get a 1 year ban, would I still be able to stay here or do I have to go back home? :(

If you were not sent to Psych interview and were instead handed your medical records or the medical records were forwarded to the Embassy for your interview then it's a good bet you are clear.  Usually, you are sent to psych and they do the interview and then wright their findings for your medical record.  In your case, you didn't have the psych eval so I would venture to say your going to be fine.  Haven't ever heard anyone at the interview get disqualified because of any situation similar to yours.  Relax.  I offer you this caveat.  Do not volunteer any information. If asked, answer truthfully. Look the CO in the eye when answering his or her questions. Be confident.  Good luck.
