Sadly they dont have the budget to be open 24 hours. I was sent to Potomac luckily.

Remember all this is a privilege not a right. They all try to move things along they dont want to be backed up as much as you guys dont want them to be.

Nice quick timeline Mr Champloo👍

Potomac processes mostly I-765 requests (authorization to work in the US), which are sent by immigrants that have already arrived, and are seeking to work in the US while their green cards are in process.  Because the government "commits" to have these approvals in three months or less, they have to staff Potomac to meet this demand.  As to how petitioners for I-130 land there, I can only guess that it is a lottery or just arbitrary.

They should offer a faster premium service for I-130 applicants who are willing to pay an extra fee. This in turn maybe speed up the normal application times.

Separated family's are paying out extra for flights back and forth to visit each other. I am sure that they wouldn't mind paying it to USCIS to be with their family sooner.

This is exactly the same thought I had. Until recently, they had the option for companies to pay premium processing for H1-B applicants (I work in tech, and I can tell you that Google, FB, etc. all used it), so why not for I-130? I would gladly fork over a good chunk of change to make this faster and more revenue for the gov't. Win-win, really.

I do not disagree, but in the game of immigration, the government does not want to be sending a message that one person has the right to emigrate based on his ability to pay more (again HB-1 visas are for workers; these individuals eventually have to go home. The government knows it can tap into corporate money and thus is willing to charge a premium for it). I agree with you 100%, but the government does not think this way as it relates to the right to live in our country.  Front of the line service is common in the Dominican Republic, which they actually title VIP.  Those that have the money take advantage, those that do not wait.  I'd pay double or triple if I could move ahead.  It is not about the money, but about the reality that my life partner is not with me, and for that I cannot put a price on the sense of loneliness I feel sometimes.

But if those with money are prepared to pay for a faster service it can only benefit all of us, even the less entitled. Imagine a totally new centre for those that pay premium and the existing ones carry on with the normal process. If 30% of those I-130 applicants were premium we would all be looking at a maximum 8 months and not 12 months +.

I would not want a premium service that uses the current workforce because that would only penalize those that could not pay.

Fellow Texas Service Center people. I'm seeing more and more Dec approvals on VJ and in the app 😊 We are getting there! Lots of people tried to file before the fees changed on Jan 1, so I'm hoping things move a bit faster once they get to Jan.

Thats awesome!!!!! Any movement in Nebraska at all?

VJ only shows your own service center to my knowledge. Go to Processing Time and then click on the second link that says "Nebraska Service Center." For the case tracker app (it might be iPhone only) if you take your case number and go back sequentially you can search by 500 cases. Ill warn you I had to go back about 150000 as the numbers are sequential for every type of form, not just I-130.
