The system is flawed and there are a lot of cases that have been sent through the lock box that could have been sorted at embassies abroad.

I am not looking for favouritism but it seems common sense that if you stop the easy cases clogging up busy centres and let embassies abroad deal with them it will speed the system within the centres in the US for everyone.

Couldn't agree more. Also not looking for a big green flag, but it seems very odd to me that it would take so very long for my wife, an Australian citizen (so, a country with a long, friendly relationship with the US), couldn't simply be processed through our local embassy. Our case is transparent.

We were told by an attorney that the government being utterly upside down, and State Dept staffing problems - thanks to this loon in office - is not helping whatsoever.

Also in regards to speculation about Nebraska... they are obviously NOT processing cases past November-December. PLEASE people do not get your hopes up when one special interest case is expedited. All you need to do is visit the December or January filers threads here to see that many Nebraska filers are largely untouched. We can't speculate that they 'must be' in Jan by now, since their last update as of June, or anything like that. Until a convincing number of cases are being processed and reported from a given time, there's no certainty. (Yes, I know it's depressing, as a late March Nebraska filer! Just no point in getting excited only to wait more and be disappointed).

In some cases, apps don't update the cases, you will never know when yours might be approved. Let's just hope yours might be in the mail soon. May be you can try calling tier 2 officer and see if you get any answers from them.

I called and was told it was hopeless since I'm the beneficiary and not the U.S citizen.  She wasn't THAT rude but still, made me feel extra hopeless for sure.

As mentioned in the Nebraska thread I sent a letter off to my spouse's local Senator as well as 2 executives that oversee the USCIS offices. My situation is like quite a few others. I have been married for almost 10 years, together for 12 and cannot believe what they put us through. When we were able to do DCF abroad the process including NVC took TWO MONTHS. I spelt it all out in my letter stating that it is completely unfair that people who get Potomac or Vermont are being processed in 5 months while Nebraska is hitting 10 months. Add insult to injury I am seeing people from high fraud countries blow past me in line. The system they have come up with was probably set up to create jobs. However, it is not practical in any sense. My husband has missed out on my son's preschool graduation, his first day of Kindergarten, will miss my son's 5th birthday and will likely miss our 10 year wedding anniversary. I pointed out that it is beyond ridiculous that if my spouse was just some boyfriend I just met I could be given a 90 day K-1 Visa and we wouldn't be separated from that point forward. I am seeing some people get approved for K-1 Visa's in two months! How much sense is it to break up families who clearly have been together for a long time but hand out visas to people who might not even be together in 6 months? I will keep everyone posted and hope that others will start sending in correspondence too. The more people complain the more they can't ignore us. If I don't hear anything in the next couple of weeks I am considering contacting the US Senate Judiciary Committee that oversees immigration and border security. This process is costing our family a fortune and a lot of unnecessary grief. I feel for everyone else too!

That is so sad! I can't even imagine what you must be going through. As hard as it is for us we have been fortunate to be able to travel every 7 weeks or so to visit. I will continue to write letters and do what I can to spread awareness on what is going on in Nebraska. Two letters went to USCIS headquarters today one through registered Xpresspost!
