Asked my husband to do if another month goes by and we're still waiting. Unfortunately, he is from Texas (which makes the being stuck in Nebraska even more annoying) so the congressmen are a bit on the.. conservative side. We are going to try, still.

Okay well I wish u the best of luck. This process is very stressful. For me it has been crazy because I pretty much grew up in the US and my husband and I didn't start of in a long distance relationship so it was crazy adjusting to it. Also I still have bills in the US but I'm currently in Ghana not making half as much money as I was making there so it has been quite financially frustrating too. I feel like I'm phisically in Ghana but mentally in the US, trying to maintain the life I started there. My goal is to be back for the holiday and I'm trusting God for that.

that's terrible! I am so sorry. Can't imagine what that feels like.

They should allow us to at least be able to come back after USCIS approval and finish the NVC stage there (then come back for the embassy interview or do it in our country's embassy in the US) that was the whole point of the K3, but they kind of stopped using it when ''things got faster'' it seems that we are regressing to painful years of waiting instead of making things more efficient. On top of that, the fact that it's not even more expensive while being significantly slower is preposterous.

Yes I feel like they need to be hiring more people if they are going to make this process more expensive. This entire process makes you feel like your life on pause Until you're back with your partner. At least that's how I feel

it does feel like a surreal pause. And your life is upside down in the meantime. I can't make progress because I don't know when I'll move there, I can't start anything, not even a gym membership.

fee increase + no new employees to deal with the additional cases= serious backlog.

I truly understand where you are coming from so are January, February and most of us in March filers. I believe is wrong for USCiS to favor some people before they approve cases before March. These people also paid the same amt we did, these people are waiting and going crazy just as we all are in March. These people have bills, and most of them have to send money to their spouse as most of us in March. My husband lives in a poor country Serbia where there was actually war, no jobs or money from the government. I was just hit by hurricane Irma and USCIS doesnt give 2 flying f***’s. I am sorry but seeing that you have been approved before other ppl like Jan-Feb its  frustrating. These people have loved ones just as we all do. They all wanna be waking up to their husband/wife as much as we all do. These people applied before us and look at it. Still waiting just like most of us in March. I have never been in a Long distance relationship, And I am pretty sureeeeeee that most of these ppl on here have not been. So yes we all do miss hugs, kisses, sex, and financial support. Most of us did contact Congressman, Senator even government and still no help. This country is bad when it comes to stuff like that. Thats why most of uneducated people screw somebody to get where they want or what they want. I am happy that you got approved but I believe its not fair to most of us and  especially people that filed in Jan-Feb. Here I am with a PD March 9th with horrible Nebraska. Goodluck to you!!!!

Yea while posting my good news I figured I would come across some people that might feel a certain way about it. Like u said some people reached out to their congressmen and still nothing but when I did it worked out for me and I am extremely thankful to God for that. And that's why I am encouraging people to pray and stay hopeful. This process sucks and yea in some cases people are in a much worse situation. All I can do is pray for y'all and share what I did to get things going for myself. I do thank God that the lady at the congressmans office was very helpful to us but I would say this, I don't think my case being approved is the cause of everyone else's delay. Nothing about USCIS or this entire process is FAIR!

I have been through this entire process before and yea it's very frustrating whether you are in the US or in your home country. Also I am not certain if the congress man actually pushed my case or not but all I know is when they reached out to NSC to check on my case they told her it was with an immigration officer and that I should hear something in 30days which was when it got approved. I am sorry you feel the way you do and I do always pray for the people in NSC. As that service center seems to be taking its sweet ole time.

Best of luck

It is very good news for you, and yes Thank god it got approved. I only said its not fair for Jan-Feb n most of us in March. You actually got lucky veryyyyy lucky while most of us are not. Its USCiS fault and they are not being fair. Its not like u went there to get yourself approved. Its the Immigration. Maybe I should contact Melania Trump to be honest she is from former Yugoslavia so she should know how it is back home. Each and everytime any of us on here contacts immigration its always the same s*** and lies. So what I will do tomorrow contact them again and say how they are doing wrong and basically do and approve as they please. I will contact my congressman and even governor. Your status is the proof. I am sorry if I came the wrong way towards you but I believe its just wrong. On many levels its wrong.

Yeah I get you, but I do want to emphasize on my main reason for wanting to share my good news which was prayer. Clearly people have taken the same route as I have and still nothing but i strongly believe it was God who had favor on me and the prayers from my friends and family. I come from a God fearing home and this entire process has brought me closer to God. I wish the same for everyone going through this. I really pray that things will start moving in a miraculous way for myself and everyone in this situation.

I also want to give you one example on how messed up this process can be. My mother got married to my step father and that's how I ended up in the US in the first place. After 10 plus years we still never got approved for our green card. Well thanks to DACA and my initial i485 in process I was able to work and travel for emergencies. Last year my sister and I decided to come visit my grandfather who was very ill. However we left before our travel document got approved (stupid idea). Mine got denied and my sisters got approved. Because apparently I was in removal proceedings and never got served with a letter. How am I in removal proceedings and my sister isn't?

Immigration is insane and the people working there are absolutely no help and have minimum knowledge of the process.

Filed: IR-1/CR-1 Visa Country: Ireland
Timeline

The system is flawed and there are a lot of cases that have been sent through the lock box that could have been sorted at embassies abroad.

The case above is a K3 visa and the lady through family circumstances ended up stranded abroad. So her case is not the same as others who are separated from their spouses. If the system was working correctly there would have been no need for her to file back in the US and filed in the local embassy instead. This would stop having unnecessary cases being sent to service centres in the US.

My own case is another that makes no sense to file and waste time in the US centres. My wife is a US born citizen but living in Ireland for 13 years and we are married 9.5 years. The local embassy in Dublin should be dealing with this instead of adding to an already bigger queue in Nebraska.

A member here married a long time and living abroad chose to return back to the US, due to his new job he had to leave his wife and teenage kids in another country. That family spent months apart and celebrated Christmas on a webcam. That case could easily have been sorted in the US embassy in the other country. Instead it was pointlessly added to an already busy queue.

I am not looking for favouritism but it seems common sense that if you stop the easy cases clogging up busy centres and let embassies abroad deal with them it will speed the system within the centres in the US for everyone.

Common sense needs to be applied, but then again what government agency ever used common sense.

This actually makes so much sense and I agree but the government doesn't care and their never on time with getting things done.
