Hello all.. so NOA2 was approved 12/12/17... 6 weeks later this past Monday I got a notification saying it was sent to NVC.. 2 weeks ago I called NVC they hadn't received anything so I called USCIS tier 2 assured it was already sent to NVC apparently not since I just got the sent to NVC notification this Monday. I called NVC yesterday hoping that notification meant NVC already had received it but no. Is it normal that it was SENT to NVC 6 weeks after approval?? I thought it took 6 weeks since approval to get the case number not for it to be sent. How long do I have to wait for a case number now?? This is crazy it took 8 months for NOA2 1 month for RFE and now 1.5 for it to be sent to NVC.

well i just reached my 6 week mark and still not received by mvc. uscis can't give me a straight answer about whether it was sent or not. sometime they take 7/8 weeks to send out to nvc. NVC normally takes from days up to 2 weeks to assign a case number after file is received.

Yea but who knows how long it takes to get from USCIS to NVC and then into the system. It took 6 weeks for USCIS just to send it. It's crazy another 4 weeks prob now. Think about it 6 weeks to send it another week to be delivered to NVC probably then another 2 weeks to get into the system..

My approval date  12/04/17. Nvc just received it 01/25/18. I was told it takes 2 weeks to assign a case #, so my count down begins.

Nothing is for sure lately nvc and uscis are very unsure about a specific window for approval or simple thing of assigning a number for case in nvc.a looooooooot of files tooo many ppl to deal with.and kept same number of employees apparently which slowed down how long the whole process take  from noa 1 till interview .

Wish best for all of us.

Hey all,

Today it's been 33 days since USCIS received our RFE response. My husband (petitioner) finally got a human on the phone last night. The operator told him that it may take up to 120 days (!!!) for them to process an RFE response. I've been able to keep my cool for the past 10 months (NOA1 March 29, 2017), but I'm starting to feel really desperate. I thought once you send off your RFE response it can't be that long anymore...

And now that I'm reading it might also take six weeks for the file to be sent from USCIS to NVC, I just feel like crying. UGH. :(

Hello. I guess it depends, mine was sent to the nvc when I received the online update from uscis and nvc received it in a week during the holidays. It would take at least 2 weeks for nvc to issue case number and after that things could move quickly as far as completing forms and paying fees. Hang in there but keep calling, they can confirm when uscis actually sent them the docs.

Hey, I'd really be interested in your timeline. Would you mind filling it in? How long did the NVC stage take for you?

Sorry for not being up for a while here.

MY PD was March 27th 2017, so only 2 days before yours.

And yesterday I received my passport with the visa in it.

Please avoid any kind of RFE´s in your documents. This is what really slows down the entire process. Take care and even more care what you fill in and read everything at least twice before you send it.

Here comes the good news:

After NVC received my case from USCIS (which took almost 9 weeks!!!) I could do everything online. Including paying the fees.

Frankfurt, Germany also belongs to the selected embassies where everything moves fast and via online processing. No DS-261 anymore. Directly paying fees and and working on the DS-260 and I-864. After I uploaded all documents in less then 24 hours our case was approved. 4 weeks later I had an eMail from NVC with my appointment at Frankfurt embassy.

BUT: Take really care on all your documents and have them gathered and ready. Spend better 2 days more for all informations necessary for DS-260 and I-864. This will save you lots of time in avoiding an RFE.

If you need help shot me a pm.

i can't believe that after 7 weeks I am still waiting for California to send my documents to the NVC. I thought waiting to get approved was bad but knowing you're so close to the end but its still taking forever really plays a number on your mind and energy. Why don't they just send things out right away?
